Discussion: RNC Largely Avoids Weighing In On Trump's Performance With Putin

And there’s the rub. It’s not just a Manchurian candidate but an entire party of treason. The Russian active measures were full spectrum, and very deep. They succeeded spectacularly.

“You know what I know about foreign policy? Once a month I eat at the International House of Pancakes. That’s my foreign policy experience,” said Ron Kaufman, a longtime RNC committeeman from Massachusetts and former political director for President George H.W. Bush.

Fuck, I don’t know this dude, but his willful, prideful ignorance makes me want to beat the shit out of him.

Fun Fact: If you “beat the shit out of Kaufman” he could be buried in a matchbox.

(h/t Christopher Hitchens. Original quote: “If you gave [Jerry] Falwell an enema he could be buried in a matchbox.”)

Of course the RNC is avoiding weighing in on Comrade Cockholster. They have other things to worry about, like Mueller synching up the NRA donors list to bought-and-paid-for actions in Congress, to name one. It won’t be a pretty picture when it all comes out. And, yes, there will be much carnage.

In other news, the RNC says up is down and any Trump performance is fine with them as long as they can still pull down their consultant fees and remain rich.

There is no Republican Party. It’s just a bunch of rich guys who hire members to help them find new golf clubs while putting up decorations now and them.

Mind you, I’m a progressive Democrat but it’s been years since Democrats have had enough votes long enough to get things done. Given the idiocy of Trump and his crowd, this country has been in bad need of reform for a long time. The only thing Trump cares about, and Putin is clearly the proof, is stuffing his pockets and hanging out with people in fur, gold, diamonds and over-priced watches.

Just so.

And in that vein, I ran across this clip while looking for something else today. I was not exactly amazed, but, considering JFK’s dead now for more than half a century, it hit me very hard that things just don’t change.

Thanks for the link!

JFK speaking at Madison Square Garden about Medicare.

President Johnson signed the law for Medicare on July 30, 1965.

Yes, Kennedy apparently gave 30 something of these stump speeches all around the country, sponsored by the AFL-CIO.

Of course he was unsuccessful, and Johnson very well could have been too. But he knew how to steamroller, and he used the memory of a dead president for all the emotional power it was worth.

It’s really too bad Johnson screwed his legacy with Vietnam.

That is a gross insult to retarded people. The RNC co-conspirators, fellow travelers, and accomplices are in full command of their faculties, and they are choosing the path of treason with open eyes.

If you were blind, you should not have sin: but now you say: We see. Your sin remaineth.

@system

Huge chunks of the Russian colluding GOP cowards in the House apparently enjoy watching Trump submit his butt to Putin, betraying my country.

I do believe there will be a new party replacing this anti-American set of corporately bought and owned elitists, racist and misogynists.

@quax

I think they’re failing spectacularly. Trump and the GOP can’t recover from fully televised treason. America will be far more ready to take on any other treasonous cowards who use a dictator’s help to wreck our election process.

Johnson had treasonous Nixon, pre-prez, who worked with a South Vietnamese negotiator to wreck the accord that would have, as Johnson put it, “made peace in our time”. Read up on Johnson a bit.

Nixon and Kissinger, mass murdering war criminals, expanded the war illegally into Cambodia and elsewhere, a run amok government fighting a treasonous war.

Nixon is ground crap, just like Donnie Sucks Putin.

Here’s what the RNC could truthfully say:

It’s very clear that we have a strong, shrewd president who loves his country, and who does everything he can at every opportunity to make his country stronger, to increase its standing in the world, and to weaken its adversaries. And Donald Trump recently met with that president the last time he was in Helsinki.
