With the demise of the Weathermen in 1975, most of the Radical Left eventually became rabid Right-Wingers during the Reagan years. It was all over.
The Plastic Hippies in college all took off their bell-bottoms, changed their majors to MBA or Law, and upon graduation put on 3-piece suits and began working hard at stabbing each other in the back to climb the corporate ladder. The rest of the country stopped listening to Folk Rock and began either dancing to Disco, or mashing on Metal, or Your God Forbid, LINE DANCING.
The True Hippies all moved to Portland and disappeared from the public consciousness and the Hollywood Hippies all turned to Crystal Power, macro-biotics, and Zen Buddhism.

It is dispiriting that even TPM falls into the trap of referring to attacks or planned attacks by Muslims as “terror” or “terrorism”, but fails to do so in cases like this, which clearly fit the definition of terrorism.
