My 14 year old came to me the other day and told me she was scared to go to school because of this past shooting. And you know what I thought? They are doing this on purpose - raise a generation on fear and they’ll be easier to control. Cynical and dystopian I know, but somehow it doesn’t seem that far-fetched.

Well semiautomatic rifles and shotguns are at least 5 times more dangerous than bolt/lever/pump actions. So the age for semiautomatics should be 105, and 21 for legitimate hunting and sporting tools.
Brings back the memory of you know who making it so that flag covered coffins stay out of the media when they were returned to the USA.
Reality has a way of way changing things, so I idea is to stay in fantasy mode to succeed in looking good ,get paid and do nothing.
It will be so much more pleasant to be shot by a 22-year-old, than by a 21-year-old. This makes all the difference.
This is not even a fig leaf, it accomplishes nothing. Those weapons need to come of the streets period.

I have such mixed emotions about that.
On one hand, there are the few thousand people who lost someone they loved in these recurring massacres–parents of the Sandy Hook children who had to bury their children and then decide what to do with the presents for them that were already wrapped and under the tree. Parents of the Parkland children. The survivors of the Las Vegas massacre. And on and on. Almost any price seems worth it not to risk retraumatizing those people with the pictures, particularly after all the vicious, evil trolling and abuse they get from gun extremists and conspiracy theorists. And particularly given what you know the 4-Chan psychopaths would do with them.
And on the other is every man, woman and child who will die in the massacres to come if we don’t do something and every spouse, child, parent, sibling, or friend of the future victims.
And then there’s the question of whether even that will be enough to do what has to be done, which is to create as many single issue gun control voters in Republican states and districts as their are single issue gun-worshipping deatheater voters.
And then the NRA dumps some money into the RNC and this is forgotten
