Discussion: Ricky Perry's Campaign Stopped Paying Staffers

Discussion for article #239295

Perhaps Perry becomes the first victim of ‘Trump Toxicity’ ? - Trump suck air out of the room - opponents wither.

Was it only four years ago Ricky made his first attempt at impressing us with his awesomeness and we see now it exists only in his own mind, but his SC state director’s got moxie

“We’ll be able to live off the land for a while.”

In the meantime, Perry’s White House hopes will be propped up by super PACs, the Tribune reported.

So, a test of the “new post CU campaign model” is forth coming. Anyone want to take beats that the Perry campaign will start coordinating directly with the super PACs? I kid…

Because the real question is will the FEC actually do something about it, or will they stay silent for fear of drawing attention to Bush doing the same thing but on a much grander scale?

Oh yeah, because if not for Trump, Perry might have lasted another couple days!

At this point what is more appropriate, sadtrombone.mp3 or laughingtuba.mp3?

Well, I am sure some stories are going to spin it that way, and the money is about even that Trump will spin in that way (he drove Perry from the campaign because Perry dared to say mean things about him).

But back in reality, Perry never had a chance. His self destruction in 2012 ruined him with the GOP donors, and he has done nothing since to make them feel any better. He was fumbling during the kiddie table debate…again. He has dumped about a $1 million on TV ad buys in Iowa ahead of the debate and received absolutely no bump. This campaign only exists now as a lesson in how far a person can stretch the CU “no coordination between campaign and super PAC” rule. Because I am pretty sure “living off the land” here means “living off the super PACs”

Road kill powered? Hope they have lots of mouthwash…

Did Perry say mean things? Should we actually be aware of this? Would Trump have cared that a third tier candidate would have any sort of influence in any way whatsoever?

Perry prayed

What is it with the “Ricky Perry” headline ? Or is it the kiddie table effect ?

And I forgot: Thanks, Trump !

Yes indeed. And for Trump, gloating runs a close second to basking in the glow of attention among his favorite things. So I have little doubt he will gloat over Perry’s demise.

God got used to ignoring the prayers from Perry about ending the drought. So this one got missed, it seems.

Say “Good Night,” Ricky.

Are we sure Perry is out of money? After all, not paying his employees might only be Perry’s ploy for signalling the 1% that he will support their efforts to screw their employees.

Though I suppose there’s no reason it couldn’t be both.

He PAID people?

In AMERICAN money?

SuperPACs are just CrowdFunders for presidential wannabes…

They’ll just take the money and run… double entendre intended.

Oops…

Rick Perry’s campaign is broke because he is using his campaign funds to pay his legal costs for the charges he faces in Texas. He has already paid his lawyers more than $2 million, and the court case isn’t even scheduled yet. Hard to convince donors to pony up for your presidential run when you are running at 2% and you are just going to use the money for your own purposes anyway.

70,000 people attended Sanders rallies in three days, not one word about it on TPM. Meanwhile, TPM does dozens of Trump stories.
