Discussion for article #231083
“It is a test of an individual’s resolve. It’s a test of an individual’s philosophy. It’s a test of an individual’s life’s experiences.” Wow, he was able to remember three things in a row, so he’s already upped his game from 2012.
Using “Rick Perry” and “IQ” in the same sentence is oxymoronic. (Or maybe just moronic.)
““I think, over the course of the last two years, people realize that what they saw in 2011 is certainly not the person they’re looking at at 2013, 2014, 2015,” Perry told NBC News.”
Because look…glasses now! Don’t they make me look intel…intellig…smarter?
You know who else had his resolve, philosophy, and experience tested? HITLER!!!
“I think, over the course of the last two years, people realize that what they saw in 2011 is certainly not the person they’re looking at at 2013, 2014, 2015,”
In other words… Perry thinks that the pig is the same but the lipstick will knock your socks off.
HRC would beat him in TX.
His hands in that photo - is he holding up fingers showing his IQ, or how many votes he got last time?
Yeah, it’s pretty clear folks on the right prefer leaders that are dumber than a bag of rocks.
He should do well.
Comedy gold.
That’s right Rick, we’re not just walking intelligence quotations or whatever. (I admit I stole that from Ben Stiller in Reality Bites.)
“Running for the presidency’s not an IQ test,” Perry said in an interview with NBC News. “It is a test of an individual’s resolve. It’s a test of an individual’s philosophy. It’s a test of an individual’s life’s experiences.”
In W’s case it was a matter of who was sitting on the Supreme Court in 2000, and controlling the voting machines in Ohio in 2004.
Taking the results of the previous pass election he may not be to far off…
Yes, but they usually want them to be half way decent actors…Perry is a miserable failure on that front.
There was one speech he gave in 2011 that was just…over the top strange. I am pretty sure when the GOP Powers That Be saw that…his chances at national office evaporated. They simply can’t trust him not to do something like that again.
Speaking of rocks…
I think you will find, however, that our experience of presidents that lacked a certain level of book smarts is not at all good. I’m thinking specifically of George W. Bush and Warren G. Harding. If presidents don’t have a certain level of both book smarts and street smarts, those in Washington with personal agendas lead them around by the nose, and end up running the country into the ground.
Resolve is no good at all if someone is resolved to do the wrong thing. And why is it that the stupidest people often seem to be the most pigheaded?
Well…evidently.
“And I think Americans are really ready for a leader that will give them a great hope about the future,” he continued.
If you were ever to be elected POTUS, which is about as likely as a Martian riding an aluminium donkey into your church this Sunday, we would all have a great hope that you’d be shot off the planet like the slick little watermelon seed that you are.
Now take that middle seat in the third row of the 2016 GOTP clown car, put your seat belt on and the shoulder strap over your mouth.
Just for the record…IQ and “book smarts” aren’t in reciprocity. And for the same record dumb is dumb no matter what you contrast it with. Perry is dumb. We all know that. Dumb enough to show up drunk or whatever for a POTUS debate and dumb enough to think folks forgot.
He’s also dumb enough, with his GOP’er buddies, to think a repeat GOP primary cluster fuck like that of 2012 something that needs redoing. All the same crap…Perry…Santorum…Huck…all back for the sequel. That’s dumb. That’s low IQ. That’s no book smarts at all.
Polling has shown just that.

No Rick, it’s a “Leader of the Free World” test.
Good luck with that.
