Discussion for article #238783

“Especially to ‘Minions’ and other cartoons,” Mr. Perry later said.

This takes pandering to a whole new level…
Yes, lets all pack heat in DARK MOVIE THEATERS so when someone, somewhere in the theater starts shooting we can all whip out our Glocks and start blazing away at all the muzzle flashes around us, completely ignorant of whether it is a crazed gunman, or a police officer, or another “Good Guy with a Gun” shooting AT the actual crazed gunman.
If ever there was a recipe for DISASTER, that is it.
The glasses are not helping Ricky boy…

Ya more guns going off in a dark crowded theater. What could go wrong?
Maybe they can give away night vision goggles with the 3-d glasses.

“I believe that, with all my heart, that if you have the citizens who are well trained, and particularly in these places that are considered to be gun-free zones, that we can stop that type of activity, or stop it before there’s as many people that are impacted as what we saw in Lafayette,” Perry said.

First time ever I have heard a crazed killing spree in a cinema called ‘that type of activity’. Sort of makes it equivalent to needle-pointing or home-brewing…

OK, you got 10% of the people in a theatre with weapons, one guy shoots and 20 others shoot at the perp and each other because they don’t know who the first shooter was. I’d say about 50% of the people inside get shot.

Because nothing says “FREEDOM” like having to arm yourself to go see Ant-Man.

It’s an “activity” that people are “impacted” by. Because God forbid you describe a mass shooting in a realistic way—certainly don’t want to contribute to anti-gun fervor, heavens no. No, arguing that more guns are the answer takes a certain, shall we say, delicacy and deftness of expression.

I believe with all my own heart that “Puppies” (Hi, Beej!) will show up here as soon as he wakes up—crack of noonish, or thereabouts—to spread his thoroughly debunked derp about gun-free zones and related topics of interest to nobody except those to whom “More guns means more people getting shot” is a confoundingly difficult concept to grasp. Maybe he’ll just go “Hear, hear!” That’s become a thing he does. But he’ll be here, the way Musca domesticae will show up eventually if you don’t clean up after the dog.

The same thing that makes perfect sense to Rick Perry made perfect sense to Mr. Houser, i.e. having a gun in a movie theater. It has been established that Mr. Houser suffered from some form of mental illness. Humm? I can see clearly now!

Every person in that movie theater could have been armed and it absolutely would not have prevented people from being killed when that whack-o decided to go on a shooting spree.

Perry knows nothing about “sense” and should be forbidden to use the word. Now “stupid” is something else altogether …

“I think that you allow the citizens of this county, who have been appropriately trained and appropriately backgrounded who know how to handle and use firearms, to carry them.”

Where are citizens only allowed to carry guns after training and "background"ing? I’m all for it. But it does sound like -gun control- doesn’t it?
