Requesting Pretrial Release, Manafort Lawyers Say He’s Being Held In Solitary

Manafort should be happy with solitary confinement. It’s much more difficult for him to have an accident while in solitary. Accidents like poisoning with nerve toxins. Accidents like being murdered by an inmate hired to do so by the Russian mob. Manafort’s death would be welcome by anyone not wanting him to squeal against Trump and Russia.

Somebody get him a deck of cards. So he can play solitaire in there.

How about if Manafort pleads guilty to his many crimes?

He can prepare for trial the way every other prisoner who can’t make bond prepares–in the can. I don’t recall anyone ever giving a shit about trial preparation when my clients have been incarcerated. There are conference rooms at the prison for this very purpose.

More likely he has a cell all to his own self. Boo-Hoo.

Gee, counselor, do you suppose that Mr Manafort should have thought about this before he decided to violate the Court’s order by contacting potential witnesses in this case?

And in case you’ve forgotten, counselor, Mr Manafort used encrypted communications. That’s pretty clear evidence of knowledge of wrongdoing.

This kind of stuff just cracks me up. There are probably 100s of thousands of people sitting in jails and prisons across the country awaiting trial. Many of them weren’t given the opportunity to get out on home incarceration while they awaited trail. They too are limited in their ability to participate in trial prep. None of them get out and neither will Manafort. He has two choices at this point: Die in prison or turn on PP. That’s it. Seems an easy choice to me.

Actually, they are just being kind to Manafort, getting him in fighting shape and conditioning for his pending very long stint in Federal Accommodations…

To ensure his safety, Paul Manafort is being held in solitary confinement at a Virginia jail for “at least 23 hours a day,” his attorneys claimed in Thursday court filings appealing his pretrial detention.

Anybody got a rabid mongoose we can throw in the cell with him?

Komrade Snowflake should have considered the consequences before violating the terms of his pretrial release. Perhaps he should have considered the consequences of committing crimes against the United States. He should now focus his energy on learning to live in prison. Get used to it, Komrade. You’ll be in prison for the rest of your miserable life.

Yeah, he’s getting three squares in there. They can’t serve them gruel anymore like in the good ol’ days.

ETA: He’s lucky he’s not in one of the county jails where they serve roadkill.

I thought the same thing… What a whiner. He has an out. .He just won’t take it.

Screw him, let him rot in jail until his trial. He has clearly shown himself to be untrustworthy, and the judge had exactly the right remedy. No sympathy.
