Or smart enough!
Waiting for the back story… I thought this dweeb had vanished.
I just NEVER get tired of seeing McConnell squirm —
Despite a well justified cynicism about Mandel’s stated rationale, your comment was the right one. Thanks.

Sorry your wife is ill, but good riddance.
Mandel’s wife, Ilana Shafran Mandel, is the granddaughter of one of nine Ratner siblings, a family of European immigrants who fulfilled the American dream and then some. A number of younger relatives are closely linked with the company that the first generation started, Forest City Enterprises, a publicly traded real estate developer with projects nationwide. Mandel’s wife and her parents do not work there; her father chairs a smaller property company, Paran Management Co.
Mandel has not flaunted these connections, or at least not publicly, and has tried to keep his wife’s assets from becoming a campaign issue. But the matter of Ilana Shafran Mandel’s financial holdings have bled into the campaign because of Mandel’s delinquency in filing a personal financial disclosure report, which requires details of spousal assets.
Paying for health care will not be an issue for this family.
So he’s either gay, raped his accountant or dog regularly, married to his sister or is busy building a fallout shelter in anticipation of the coming nuclear war? That’s clearly no reason not to run for office in the Republican Party now.
So what if he would have had line up publicly with the rest of the GOP suckups to thank and worship the ground Donald J. Trump walks on? Who cares if your children will abandon you when they are old enough to know how you enabled a barely functioning, illiterate Con Man who has been moneylaundering with the Russians for decades to help radical Islamic terrorists?
The treason is the least of it, right?
Right? He was the “top tier?”
Wow, that’s an absolutely perfect comment.
Is his wife really sick? If so, it’s too bad. However, Mike DeWine? Really? He already lost to Brown and he’s 71…c’mon. Let’s get some new blood in there…
Went to cleveland.com to read comments there. Someone suggested Husted, the voter suppressor, should run. Someone else just suggested Jim Jordan.
But lots of comments that are happy that Mandel is out, saying he got out while the gettin’ was good, because Brown was going to whip him.
This man is clearly not a real Gingrich Republican.
Kasich not interested?
One down!
Brown Power, its a thing!
The Blue wave is real and its already claiming victims. Getting out early proves that the denying tendencies of the right are merely for political expediency because they aren’t denying this and are jumping right out of the gate.
We already know Trounce with no friends but The Orange Menace with no loyal subjects, truly-priceless!
This is interesting, for those interested in a little political flutter.

I would say that the price for a D majority in the Senate is on the cheap side. Market heavily favors Ds for control of House, but still worth a buy:

He does get that weird look but unfortunately he’s holding the Squirmer thingamajig now. But still good to see him being the bitch, even for a moment.
Top Republican dropping out of a re-election race?
Mene mene tekel upharsin.
(That is the handwriting on the wall.)
I remember my freshman year chem professor telling us all to check in our grandparents to make sure that they were healthy and well cared for because he said that final exams seemed to be deadly for grandparents, that we would be shocked by just how many reportedly died just from their grandkids having to take their first round of finals.
I’m thinking that we’re seeing the GOP version of “…but my grandma died!”
The shock decision leaves state Republicans scrambling for a top-tier candidate to face Brown…
And they wont find one either. No Republican who wants a future in politics would touch a race like this. My guess is they won’t have a serious candidate who’s willing to face any incumbent Democrat by summer.
