Discussion: Reports: Trump Weighing Major Shakeup That Could Ax Priebus, Bannon

Reince Priebus performs some function in this administration? Who knew?

Wait, don’t tell me - the words are “The president has complete faith and confidence in Mr. Preibus and Mr. Bannon”. I believe that’s the phrasing used 2 hours before Flynn was cut loose.

“until tomorrow”
You’re a real optimist. Ever live through a takeover? " NO CHANGES are planned, people…"
Edit: Corporate takeover.

One rogue WH account sort of predicts start of WWIII. But something about time zones. Just like Nostradamus predicted the rise of evil Hister!

Trump’s attack on Syria last night took place on April 6th according to local time in Washington DC, and this tweet predicted Trump would initiate his military action on April 7th.

Really, WHO would WANT to work in this shitty administration???
It seems all the long knives are out, people gossiping, leaking, people have to worry if they will be next.
I read the story about the guy that was for Hillary and wrote articles against Trump. Well this same guy is jonesin’ for a job in this administration and begged his former employer to delete the stories he had written that were critical of Trump. Talk about desperate! (the kissass no scruples guy did end up going over the employers’ heads and got the Turkish government involved and was ultimately successful in getting the stories deleted)

Like, can it really be worth it??? I don’t get it.

As for Bannon and Priebus, they are such posers. Especially Priebus. I think it would do him some good to get the pink slip. He doesn’t realize how lame he looks. He’s clearly not WH Chief of Staff; grifter Jared runs that show.

WH is shooting these stories down right now. And for once, I actually believe them.

Trump isn’t going to consolidate power into one camp in his adminstration, even Jared’s. His “philosophy” has always been to keep several factions warring at each other in his orbit. Removing Bannon violates that principle

Priebus on the other hand, I’ve never thought he fit in particularly well in Trumpland or as Chief of Staff. On other hand,he knows where lots of skeletons are buried by now, so it could be dangerous to cut him loose and put him outside the bubble.

Well, there are those ball washing tasks down in Mar-a-Lago, and wherever else it’s called upon.

I agree. He comes off so…spineless. And desperate.
At least when he was chairman of the RNC he came off as strong and resolute. In the Trump administration he’s just so weak. Hell, you almost forget he’s even around.

Chaotic childhood. Chaotic adult. Chaotic businessman. Chaotic “celebrity.” Chaotic candidate. Chaotic nominee. Chaotic campaign. Chaotic election. Chaotic President-elect. Chaotic transition. Chaotic first days of Presidency. What is common to all of these characterizations?

I’m no doubt a bit thick here, but I don’t follow what you mean about the NO CHANGES… And do you mean a corporate takeover or a military coup?

'Splain, please?

It’s always best to fire people on Fridays. Maybe today is Bannon’s lucky day.

That’s an image that will haunt me.

@26degreesrising sounds like you’re fortunate to never have been through a corporate takeover. No changes planned means “polish up your resume, cause you’re outta here” and "sharpen your nails, cause that’s all you’re hanging on by’.

Bannon has dismissed stories about an impending departure as “100 percent nonsense.”

That’s it - he’s gone. Rinse is on his heels. Probably because Dump was tired of them getting any of the press that belongs to MEMEMEMEMEME!

And you know where it’s so bad it’s not funny? Rudi G’s task to, in the immortal words of a Senior Official “boost our cyber”. Anybody who’d hire on would have to be a mole. Maybe we can find a Strong Leader to help us out, kinda lend-lease?
Let’s ask Uncle Vlad if he can spare anybody.

My guess, based on the total lack of understanding and disregard the Trumpers show for titles, is that he actually isn’t a Chief of Staff, and is more like a liaison to Congress, the RNC and other key republicans.

Its just a guess. But I can’t see Priebus, with zero experience, setting daily agendas for Trump, with no ability to confine himself that way, and standing up to people like Bannon…or even Conway…when they decide the MUST see the President. Right Now.

We all know he won’t do any of those things, save perhaps the first one, which isn’t necessarily a terrible idea.

Trump is running out of children - that we know of - so I don’t know whom he is going to find to work for him.

And, maybe he should first concentrate on staffing all of those vacant State, Defense, Homeland Security, Justice, Health and Human Services, and Energy Department jobs, and also EPA jobs.

NPR was talking last night to China expert, David Dollar, about the “summit” between the Donald and Xi this weekend. Way too soon and the Donald doesn’t even have a “China team.” In fact, they’ve filled very few policy positions since the inauguration. The executive branch is nothing but a skeleton crew. If he wants, Xi will do whatever he wants with the Donald. What fucking embarrassment.

I nominate Strong Leader Clinton who could fill the jobs of Chief of Staff and Chief of Strategery and still make it to the bar in time for happy hour. Where she’ll lead a discussion on the Meaning Of Life

As the Post reported, “One friend said he [Bannon] hates attending meetings, bemoans the need to frequently wear suits, and finds the government bureaucracy stifling.”

That’s funny. Those are the exact same things that Priebus loves about his job at the White House!
