Discussion: Reports: Trump To Sign Order Withdrawing From TPP Monday

I wonder if he even realizes that the TPP is everyone but China?

The TPP is flawed but the motivation is there for such a deal…

Yes. Business decisions are best made when government policy is predictable.Businesses will not want to invest in physical plant and new hires when it is uncertain they can produce a product that can compete worldwide. And protectionism will destroy their markets abroad. The Electoral College voted for this and now Americans will reap what the EC sowed. The only glimmer of light here is that the coming “Greater Recession” may help us get rid of the EC for good.

You mean Bubble and Squeak or Bangers and Mash. Haggis is Scotts. And I know where you can already purchase some Marmite.

Oh, that sound’s been around since Shrub got ‘elected.’

And keep in mind we’re talking about trade with England.

I believe that Nicola Sturgeon will put Scottish independence right back on the ballot and THIS time, they’re gone. After that, Irish reunification. We’d be trading with another racist, impotent, formerly great Empire.

Agreed, the UK is toast…

They might be able to hang on to Northern Ireland…

Scottish support for independence is less than it was during the referendum. Nicola is crashing and burning.

Whatever Mexico and Canada might decide to do with regards to NAFTA, I don’t know – but I do know they will totally be interested in signing their own Asian trade pact, very likely with China as the anchor. PeePee is shooting America’s workers in the foot. Businesses, by and large, don’t care because they’ll just move to where the money takes them. Economically speaking, this is a potential boon to Canada’s and Mexico’s economies.

Totally O.T.
Check this out on Charles Broccoli’s twitter. Can’t imbed for some reason. I might go back to church if I can find out where the black Bishop(Priest?) is rector.

While your at it, Donnie, why not bring back segregation, Jim Crow, end women’s suffrage and let children work in factories.

Scotland voted to REMAIN. There is no benefit to tying themselves to the anchor that is Britain.

That is the reason to get going as quickly as possible…

The Chinese will be dancing in the streets. They’ll say they’re just celebrating Chinese New Year, but the fireworks will be acknowledging America’s cessation of influence on the Pacific Rim to the Peoples Republic of China. It’s fairly simple. China is an economy on the way up; America is an economy on the way down.

If you could take all the corruption and narcissism out of Trump’s brain and left him with only his best qualities and had him as President that way he’d still hugely diminish our stature in the world and set us on a downward glide toward former-power status. Postwar America will before long be postwar England. But it was fun while it lasted.

They might have voted to REMAIN, but all polling in The Guardian shows that the Scots do not want another independence referendum.

No benefit? 80% of Scotland’s trade is with the rest of the UK. Only 10% is with the EU.
