Wow, giving Dreamers a 10 year path to citizenship is a dramatic consession? Maybe in Miller’s mind. 50,000 people a year are entering under the diversity lottery, and considering the screening they go through, it’s not an open door to unchecked immigration, anymore than chain immigration is illegal immigration.

Reminds me of the story before Christmas about the nazi-type who was found in the daughter’s bedroom in Reston, VA. Her mother became more alarmed at the stuff the kid was sending the daughter, alerted people at school, and staged an intervention. They thought it was all good, and then the kid came into the house on the Friday before Christmas, was found with her, and killed the mom and stepdad and shot himself.
I haven’t checked to see if he died, but I think about the daughter and her life going forward.
This is absolutely the best way to express one’s preferences in a democracy and especially to show one’s opposition to a nascent fascism.

I am not really disappointed to learn that he is Jewish (did not know this before) – no group is immune to bigotry. But I am relieved to learn that members of his synagogue “disowned” him.
