The only way to fix what is going on is to fire yourself Trump. The buck stops at you. You are the reason for the chaos You are the one lying all the time. Of course the staff can’t keep all the lies straight. Lies have a way of catching up with you. The truth will out.
You are the one that needs to go.
The only thing he knows how to do is fire people.
Now it seems it’s his go-to “action” when he’s terrified too.
What a debacle.
Deck chairs on the Titanic. Never HIS fault.
I’ll give him this, since he seems to regard leaks as the only problem facing his administration: after Comey, he knows who the leaks aren’t. Now I don’t think he can function with a staff of just Keith Schiller, Hope Hicks, Javanka and Pence. But the Comey thing didn’t leak in advance and that seems likely to affect how he behaves in the future. Perhaps making him more isolated and erratic.
As I see it, whomever he brings in will start leaking because the culture he fosters encourages backstabbing, but he’s not going to learn better at this point.
So Rump’s answer to the entire fiasco of his regime is to fire what he perceives to be bad messengers and replace them with - ?
This will end badly for the country.
@greycardinal I’m wondering if it might even be Bannon, pissed off at having been sidelined by the “New York Democrats.”
Friendless men are either pathetic or scary as hell.
With whom would he replace them? Stephen Miller as communications director / press secretary? Keith Schiller as chief of staff? Adding more to Kushner’s port folio? Isn’t he sort of running out of loyalists?
Delusional and hunkered down in a bunker while the opposition troops are making rapid progress.
Didn’t turn out well last time, either. Malaria - don’t accept an offer to join him.
This story is just more of the usual chaos. What Trump Does with his staff won’t matter any more than his rants. The stunk coming out of the White House won’t go away until Trump is gone.
Actual quote from WaPo this weekend:
“The president personally has conducted postmortem interviews with aides about the Comey saga, investigating the unending stream of headlines he considers unfairly negative, according to several White House officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity because Trump is cracking down on unauthorized leaks.”
As implied in this, the WH cottage industry of planting authorized leaks will continue. Lucky thing, if Trump shut it down it would show up in the unemployment statistics.
I loved that one story numbered the internal leakers for a particular story at “a dozen”, which would infuriate Trump, if someone read it aloud to him.
At the risk of beating a dead horse’s patoot, IMO there’s been a designated leaker–Reince?-planting stories with Haberman,in Politico and elsewhere relentlessly. God knows how many helper’s he has.
Not only that, but for a president who demands loyalty, he exhibits none. Who is going to sign up now?
The White House press shop’s answers to basic questions about Comey’s termination changed almost hourly since Spicer first announced Comey’s firing by shouting the news to reporters from his office doorway and then locking the door.
I bet that was fun sentence to type.
WAG—maybe Gorka will get a bigger role? I can’t see him as Press Sec, but he is known to be one of Trump’s favorites.
Trump – Start by firing Rod Rosenstein. Also, isolate and demote Mike Penice and his wife, who have been spotted in DC area home furnishing stores picking out drapes and bed linens for the Lincoln Bedroom. The First Lady (Washington DC) and Silicone Czar Ivank Trump knows this and has is reportedly livid.
The leaks are from the Preshitident Trump himself so that he can create a fake narrative of leaks rather than his Russian espionage activities. He has a long track record of planting leaks in the press.
It’s come up again and again, for weeks-- they can’t even staff the places where they really need help(Treasury, press, congress liaison, etc.). Only way they can get anybody, any level would be to offer massive bonuses under the table up front. Only an idiot would listen to promises. Then the recipient runs the risk of getting into an investigation. They’re stuck. SAD.
