Well, it’s nice of you to speak up for your eastern cousins there but in this country we have a tradition of carrying on British prejudices from centuries past and “Vandals and Visigoths” doesn’t mean “people who had a much more sophisticated culture than is widely recognized” to us. It means people who break things. It’s archly archaic these days but so am I.

Back in the 80’s into the 90’s my sister was in the restaurant industry and would receive the trade magazine Restaurant News. Herman Cain was the president of the National Restaurant Association where he would write a monthly column.
Every month he would decry most activities by the government be they wage and hour laws.(He really had it in for the minimum wage). Safety and health standards. “Hey tough it out, too bad the slicer cut your finger” as well as flouting immigration laws.
With retrograde views out of the gilded age it’s no shock that he’s a Trump appointee.
