I do.

Itā€™s why Iā€™m ā€˜checkingā€™ myself now.

True, but its also why its on McConnell to prove that he can check Trump in these instances.

It wasnā€™t a coup. The Republicans won an election. It happens when Democrats are stupid or arrogant. In this case we Democrats were arguably both. Donā€™t let it happen in 2018. Clean house and nominate real progressives.

In the world I wish we lived inā€¦ values trump loyalty. Of course, that would be open-hearted liberal valuesā€¦not the racist mob family values of the Republicans.

The HAVE to. Even the ones who supposedyl want to ā€œgo along to get alongā€ have to block him because the GOP wants to enshrine voter suppression for the future. The Dems would be helping to ensure that they never win another election again by allowing the GOP destroy their base from voting.

In 2013 Chief Justice Roberts pronounced that the US is now a post-racial society. Racism is dead, long live racism.

Except we won. Blame it on Madison.

We want all his emails, too.

Thatā€™s the point of my comment. Because its not as simple as that for McConnell; he needs to be 100% sure he has the votes before going down that path, and he needs to be 100% its worth it for Sessions.

And I donā€™t think either is 100%.

You have a very good point.

Dems are easy to forgive and forget and move on - case in point Obama. Unfortunately it got him nowhere. Only emboldened the thugs to block Garland. I hope the Democrats can really grow a pair and start to behave exactly like the republicans have done since Obama first took office. But for something of that nature to happen, Schumer (and I do like him) should not have been elected minority leader. He is too timid. A Pelosi type personality should be senate minority leader.

can they, brooklyn? Iā€™m genuinely asking. What can they do to stop them down 51-49 and in the House? Do you know?

Isnā€™t there a way that Obama can appoint Garland without consent? In a recess or something? If so, is there one from now until 1/20?
