Nobody says he should never work again. He can get a job as a garbage collector or some other such thing. Really, nobody is saying he should never work again and certainly he doesn’t have to play football to "walk the straight and narrow.
They ALL will! You may not have noticed it but cave man behavior is encouraged on and off the
playing field.
The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog. per Mark Twain.
Sportsball is so much more important than actual law. Glad that’s settled. Now the team owners can continue to blackmail cities to build temples to their hubris. Go team. I fucking hate football.
About a hundred zillion million likes. Loved my dogs, always will.
I agree JJ.
However, his finance is now his wife. They have been through counseling together - they have a child. She has forgiven him, right or wrong - and he is entitled to make a living.
Humans are an abomination on this earth. In the short time humans have been here, they have more damage than any specie ever.
Me too. He’ll quietly commit to some team, do an apology/redemption tour, and then they’ll announce his signing over the summer.
He’s entitled to make a living but he’s not entitled to be in the NFL anymore than I am.
Actually, I find it exceptionally annoying how so many people can be so devoted to dogs and care so little for human beings. That, imo, is completely heartless.
In purely football terms, it would take a month to get in shape, and there’s only a month left in the season., so it wouldn’t make much sense.
I do wonder if he gets signed for next season. He probably does, after doing the public hair-shirt routine.

I saw an interview (very short) of Rice’s now wife wherein she says what Ray did is not who Ray is. I immediately thought she was in extreme denial of what is clearly in Mr Rice’s character. Maybe the penalty was correct. I’m no expert on how the NFL operates. I don’t watch much football. I prefer baseball. But I do know an abuser when I see one. That men behave that way sincerely bothers me.
There has been entirely too much coverage of this despicable event. Time to move on. Actually for those who don’t follow the NFL, Ray is not a top player anymore so it will be difficult for him to get a job in the league.
Turn the clock back 3-5 years & there were “domestic incident” cases cropping up all the time - and treated by the NFL like personal non-football matters about like if the player had a parking ticket.
It is all just a bit too disingenuous for the NFL to suddenly act like they have been staunch defenders of domestic accord … and that they were being so righteous … just do a bit of digging and you can come up with a list of players who are still playing - and have some nasty stuff in their history .
As a matter of due process, it’s the right decision. He told the truth the first time, and the NFL gave him their punishment which was way too light. The second round of punishment was due to public outrage from the video, which contained nothing that Rice didn’t tell the league in his interviews. Additionally, the video was available to the league if they had done their due diligence and asked for it. I hate having a wife beater in the league, but it’s not proper for the league to decide on one punishment and then completely change it in response to public outrage.
Face it, this guy’s going to be on another team soon, if not before the end of the year. Adrian Peterson will also be playing for another team next year.
Ten to the googleplex You are welcomes.
Of course there are heartless people who have love or compassion for their fellow man. And some of these people may even be devoted to their own dogs and maybe they are animal activists. And of course their are people devoted to makinf the world a better place for their fellow man, people who are devoted to loving their fellow man who are totally indifferent to the plight of animals. And there are people who are equal opportunity devotees of all living things. There is no evidence that someone can’t be devoted to any or all dogs without being cold to humans. People who are indifferent to the suffering of humans or animals are scary to me.
