Discussion: Reports: Rand Paul To Drop Out Of 2016 Race

Agreed, nobody else running is a libertarian.

I brought up an issue last week, that conservatism has stagnated to the point that zero new ideas are even being batted around. Reagan’s campaign/administration was the last “new” idea introduced into the conservative movement, and its the only ideas they still embrace…almost 50 years later and despite empirical evidence continuing to mount that “trickle down economics” is a complete failure.

Libertarianism offered a chance for some new ideas to be introduced to the conservative universe…but like the 2012 post mortum, it has been soundly rejected by the GOP at large.

Not that I am a big fan of libertarianism, but a party and political movement cannot stagnant to the point that it offers no new ideas of half a century and continue to exist. Thus we see the right ripping itself apart.

They just don’t want to call it that.

He’s made a lot of enemies on the R side with all the cash needed for the dual run. I do hope he loses even though it would be to another Republican. KY’s voters would be better off with a real legislator representing their interests than a fop like Rand!

Just for clarification…Rubio only attended UM for law school. He attended UF for his undergrad work.

Paul never attended UK. He went to Baylor for undergrad and med school at Duke.

He found out that he really couldn’t create his own primary to name him as the GOP nominee, and the Feds shut down access to the sovereign nation of Harney County Resource Center before he cold get a primary going there. It is a sad day for personal liberty.

I’ll calm down. I just can’t help thinking about all the people who said, “Rand Paul WILL be our next president.”

Republicans treated libertarians the same way they do the western ranchers: stoke up fear aND invent a past that never existed as a reactionary goal. Why those ‘targeted’ groups never understood “Follow The Money” I dinna ken.

It is good, however, to see lil’ Rand carrying on the family business. I’m sure we can all look forward to seeing him in 2020 and 2024 and 2028 and 2032 and…
Well…Go you little pseudo-libertarian. Make Daddy and (just with effort) Lyndon Larouche proud.
Still…When Rand Paul is one of the more reasonable-sounding candidates to tumble out of the GOPig clown car, you know that car is making far, far…far too many right turns and is going nowhere.

BTW: On the other hand…InSanitorium is still hanging on…like a ‘clinger’ that just refused to drop and has to be forcefully wiped.

The good news is you got a great Senator there in Kentucky!

I am thinking that it would be nice to see a few more Democrats in the race to be biting the dust…not really much to choose from. (JFK aint walking through that door any time soon)
