Discussion: Reports: Priebus ‘Apoplectic,’ Trump Aides ‘Suicidal’ After String Of Blunders

They deserve all the hand wringing and sleepless nights and public embarrassments and so much more!

They propped this up, made excuses, counter attacked with lies and innuendo. Now it’s time to reap what they sowed. Trump is a toxic stew of vanity and hatred but he is the inevitable product of the last 30+ years of the GOP.

Is this the disastrous suicide squad I keep hearing mentioned on TV?

I first saw this on Twitter last night and mentioned again this morning by Josh Marshall. I just wonder if the threat for “top tier” Republicans to withdraw support is true and if simply a last gasp effort to force Trump to mend his ways. “Mend his ways” has always seemed a fatuous and morally bankrupt hope to me. Likely impossible given the man and it would simply temporarily paper over the demagogic dragon and enormous danger to our democracy and the world Trump truly represents. It merely would help the threat grab power in its talons. We’ll see. A Trump response against the Republican Party would likely entail verbal threats and actual violence by some of his supporters, but together we are strong enough as a nation to deal with that now. Much harder if he gained office. Speak up Republicans. Discredit him now.

I have worse news. There’s a popcorn shortage.

Trump needs to hold on until October. Too early to dump him now

“Pivoting to the general election” means claiming the whole thing is rigged against him. He’ll avoid any debates with HRC because they will also be rigged against him because the debate structure has time limits and does not allow free-form insults and grandstanding. He’ll actually have to know what he’s talking about. He does not have the attention span for that. He wants Donaldball, where the rules change according to his mood, just like his net worth does.

Probably because we all beat the rush and stocked up early. I hear that the liquor stores have had a run on Schadenfreude 2016 as well.

Popcorn was for the primary insanity. I’ve moved on to mixed nuts for the general in honor of the Republican Party…

Well she is the devils after all…

I’d prefer for Reince to be the suicidal one. But, hey, he is in the top ten list of the people doing their best to destroy the Republicans so I guess he does have some sort of value to the world.

How rigged are things that Trump might be dumped by the RNC? That Hillary has minions everywhere.

We could see a repeat this year.

How does one dump a party nominee exactly? I heard some pundit, yesterday, say Ryan is “the titular head of the Republican Party”…I’ll go along with “tit” for Ryan but the party nominee is the actual leader/head of the party. Who gives the bad news and how’s it enforced?

I guess quitting is just too damn simple

@seanmalloy Stuart Stevens of the Romney campaign made a case on MSNBC that the top of the ticket could be dumped, move Pence into that spot, and it would allowable under RNC rules. Terrible mess would follow, so choice is destroy the party with trump at top or Pence at top after reshuffle.
