russert saying even as late as 8a this morning, mccarthy said he was running; but by noon he dropped the bombshell on the conference … (apparently the sound system wasn’t working, and members couldn’t hear what he was saying; but once they did, they scooted out of the meeting, doing everything to avoid reporters…)
