Music and people enjoying it together sets this guy off?
Thought this was worth injecting into the public conversation.

Don’t know if I know how to embed this video properly though. The video is offered as a way to show how America still whitewashes our history.
How would he get 18 rifles and ammo to Chicago or Boston?
In a rental car?
For 25 years the NRA and their agents in the arms industry and the GOP have pushed for expansion of the definition of the 2A. They succeeded. However, his vast social, cultural, legal, political, and public health experiment has proven to be a complete failure. Rather than enhancing our personal liberty, as they would all repeat over and over, most sane people feel less free. Less free to go to a concert in Vegas. Less free to go to a church in Charleston. Less free to go to a movie in Aurora. Less free to go to high school in Columbine. Less free to go to elementary school in Newtown.
I wonder if the shooter, with the money, paid for shooting blinds in other places, for his friends, who got cold feet and bailed.
So, a person spent weeks or months planning a very straightforward scheme to use several very powerful guns entirely for their intended purpose of killing lots of people in a short amount of time. He debated, in his own mind, what kinds of guns to use and at which public concerts in what cities to commit mass murder. And he did it all while legally stockpiling a killing arsenal.
Right up until he pulled the trigger, he was a law-abiding citizen.
Thanks NRA. You built this.
Did he not own a car? (I really don’t know.)
We all know that there will certainly come a day when some guy named Syed Farook is going to do the same thing with a similar cache of weapons and then the GOP will have a very difficult time spouting their “because freedom!” gibberish.
Oh wait, that happened already and that’s just what they did, and it worked. Never mind…
Me neither, driving just seemed like the obvious answer.
While this video spreads information/history that people need to hear, I think all of the examples involve multiple shooters, whereas (I think) the other examples, like Las Vegas, are involving a single shooter.
Again, the examples in the video are shameful and horrible examples of racism and our long-standing history of a propensity for violence, and they need to be remembered. I’m just quibbling on the details.
What is does say is that we have always been a violent society…and the sheer numbers of mass casualties have been whitewashed, whether it was instigated by a few against the masses or many that took on a mob mentality. That’s not a trivial point.
I agree completely. I apologize if my comment made it seem like I was trying to diminish the video’s or your message. Definitely not.
I don’t want to downplay the horror of this whitewashing or the massacres that have been whitewashed. However, I am curious about one thing. All of the atrocities cited in the video involved multiple shooters. Does anyone have stats on mass murder deaths per shooter? Does Paddock lead (not just in “modern history”) there?
From this information, it sounds like he wasn’t targeting any group in particular, that he didn’t necessarily have a focused political agenda, but his primary objective was to take out the largest number of people possible.
