Candidates hold their delegates until they say they are released. At a minimum thru the 1st ballot at the convention. Remember, Trump isn’t assured victory in the convention until he has a majority of delegates in his pocket.
And opposed to what Fox’s Brit Hume is blabbering…Trump hasn’t been “elected” yet. The General Election isn’t until November. Trump isn’t in office…yet.
I still expect, hope and pray trump goes down to massive overwhelming defeat. In November.

5/17… Big day for Trump…
Kasich will be Trump’s VP on the ticket. He fits too many needs to ignore. Ohio is critical for the GOP. Trump has stated he wants an experienced politician, and Kasich has served in the House and as a Governor. Trump’s conservative credentials are doubted, and Kasich can promise he’ll influence Trump in the right direction on that count. Kasich stayed mostly above the fray in the nomination campaign, retaining more of his dignity, so he’s covered in a bit less dirt than everyone else. He’s the one.

Kasich won’t take it. Why would he? Whomever runs on that ticket will see the end of their political career on a ticket that loses horribly or as a one term VP who gets run out of Washington on a rail. He would be far better served spending the next two years in Ohio helping to elect a GOP successor to his governorship, then a gig on Fox followed by a presidential run in 2020. If Trump loses as badly as I hope and believe he will, the party is going to do everything within its power to distance itself from everyone and everything associated with his campaign. There’ll be no coming back from that.
