He lives only in the present. The past - that is, his memory of the past - changes for him to support whatever he wants the present to be, and that is whatever makes him feel dominant over others right now. .
It struck me yesterday how Jared and Ivanka have gone 100% silent in the midst of this latest arc of ego/rage fueled spasms. I’ve always thought there would be a point where they would be in the kitchen talking about Daddy and pause, look at each other, and go “ok, wtf are we doing here? We gotta try and save ourselves.”
Perhaps it hasn’t reached that point, but I assume it will one day. They’ll admit that tuna is an ancient old whale and they need to cut bait and move on to better waters.

No, I don’t assume that. Having worked recently here in NYC on a project with some high level developers, it was common thinking that Jared, with his big problems here in his business, would get to a point of panic and cut and run, esp after it’s clear to him that he’s completely shunned and ineffective with his D.C. power grab.
Since he has always surrounded himself with yes men, I wonder if he’s not used to being called out and that’s why he unabashedly lies the way he does
