His defense to assault is not anything resembling fear of physical harm. He assaulted her by his own admission because she was part of a group protected by freedom of the press who wrote “bad” things about his candidate. Incredible! Such a stupid thing to say unless you know law enforcement is in the tank for your guy.
Try yanking someone to the ground on a public sidewalk or at the mall, and see how fast you end up in handcuffs. I don’t understand why there have been repeated - almost daily - incidents like this, without a single assault prosecution (or even arrest) or law suit. It seems that law enforcement are paying some special deference to Trump people. And it’s telling that generally speaking, those assaulted are described as peaceful and unresisting.
