The real fear amongst health professionals isn’t that they will be inconvenienced when they come home. It is that the same isolationist fear-based demagoguery which is driving these pushes will, a month from now, change to not letting them back in at all.

The problem is not the specific policy - as stupidly counterproductive as it is. It is the thought process - very deliberate, very (for lack of a better term) evil - going into it and the obvious “next step” such a thought process would take.

Health authorities do have the power to quarantine where it is medically justified. Here it is not.

And, I should add, this is not “health authorities” so much as “political authorities” who are forcing health officials to do something those officials disagree with.

Any governor who gives in to the isolationist fears of the population is not fit to be called a leader. Sorry, Cuomo; you have killed your political career.

Christie is slinging whatever he can at anything he can to hopefully get people to forget his Bridgeghazi scandal, and that shit ain’t happenin’ #1. Also he is simultaneously attempting to seem Presidential in case everyone forgets the Bridgeghazi scandal, and that shit ain’t happenin’ #2.

Chris Christie took a gigantic dump on Chris Christie. He has only himself to blame for being viewed as the unethical, sleazebag, puss-filled conservative asshole that he is.

Note:* I do not care for Chris Christie in case you hadn’t noticed.*

Be nice if they had a record of how many health care workers have
in countrys with Ebola and have returned un noticed until the Situation in Texas. One death at this point. ONE!!!

Oh, for chrissake, now we’ll never hear the end of it. Obummer is soft on eeeeeebowler while the rough and tough big man Chris Christie isn’t afraid to shut down a bridge if that’s what it takes to pander to an irrational and uneducated anti-science public so malleable by fear. Cue CNN, Fox, Morning Joke…

Don’t he and Christie make a cute couple though? Two pricks in a pod.

The White House is 100% correct about this being an uncoordinated, and hurried response from these two cheap political opportunists, as proved by Christie having no plans whatsoever for the quarantine of those people. The mandatory quarantine is bad enough, but the horrendous treatment of that nurse, an AMERICAN CITIZEN, who did nothing wrong but help others, is outrageous.

There was no reason to lock her in a room at the airport for four hours, never telling her what was going on, and not even giving her a glass of water, until she begged for it. Then to keep her in a damn tent was just horrible. They treated her worse than a suspected murder suspect is treated.

stand up? That’s funny.

Great - These idiots have now set off a race to the bottom!
Who will be the first to set up detention camps?

What’s next: Leg Irons? Reporting to Medical probation officers? It appears to me that right now self monitoring works. These are, after all, health professionals. They know how to take a temperature.

Cuomo is lucky that Christie is such an easy target for ridicule because he deserves a lot of ridicule also.
Both Governors are failing the test of governing beyond their own states, they aren’t Presidential material, they are future lobbyist material.
