Donald Trump is travelling to the German city of Hamburg to attend a gathering of world leaders. But before he arrives, the US president will stop in Poland, to the delight of its conservative, nationalist government.

Hell, the Polish government is actually bussing people in from the hinterlands to provide “cheering crowds.” Sort of a North Korean model of state visit stagecraft. In essence, they are hoping to create exactly the opposite of the welcome he’ll be receiving in Hamburg.

Actually, if Google is stumped it’s because there’s technically an “s” missing: “Scheiss-” itself has two, plus “Stuerm” (storm) has one of its own. And, yes, in German we write all three of 'em in a row.

I wouldn’t get too excited at this point. This may be a prelude to a concerted effort by Mercer to gain board membership but Time Inc has nearly 100MM shares outstanding and 2.5MM ain’t close to the right ballpark. If he triples that stake it might be worth paying attention to it but not as it stands now.

Just for context nearly all Time Inc shares are owned by institutional investors, some of whom do have enough shares to exert control over the company, and they’re not likely to be interested in pandering to reactionary revanchism the way the Mercers and other movement conservatives do particularly now that it’s becoming clear the easy money has already been made there.
