LOL! Don’t you get it? Trump will take that pledge when the RNC pledges he is their nominee. Its the Art of the Deal; Trump won’t give them something like that without receiving much more in return.
I will go you one further. He doesn’t WANT to be POTUS. Because its the ultimate accountability job in the world. You can’t blame your screw ups on others, and even if you do, nobody pays attention. And Trump would be blamed by both sides.
It’s also not an easy job. Yes, you can delegate much of it away like Reagan and W did, but that just means…more screw ups by someone else for which you get the blame. There isn’t much time to tweet hateful tweets for 2 or 3 hours a night at a reporter you think was mean to you. (and there are WAY too many reporters actually being mean to you).
But he wants something; what, I cannot exactly make out yet. He isn’t going to bow out in any fashion where he cannot claim total victory. So I really don’t have any ideas where this ends up.
True, but this is the one retreat that might be strategic, aimed at growing his support from the fetid toxic pool of GOPer lifers.
Only way Trump does this is if he’s edged over into believing he might actually win this stupid sad clown race.

My cynicism is gonna hafta undergo a radical restructuring I think. It’s gonna take some considerable bourbon intake to deal with it. For a variety of reasons I’m gonna sink into a depression should one of these clowns get elected. Not the least reason is the next POTUS will likely be nominating 2 SCOTUS justices.
