The Sturmabteilung functioned as the original paramilitary wing of the Nazi
Party. It played a significant role in Adolf Hitlerâs rise to power in
the 1920s and 1930s. Their primary purposes were providing protection
for Nazi rallies and assemblies, disrupting the meetings of opposing
parties, fighting against the paramilitary units of the opposing
parties, especially the Red Front Fighters League of the German
Communist Party, and intimidating Slavic and Romani citizens, unionists,
and Jews â for instance, during the Nazi boycott of Jewish businesses.

I thought Trump considered Breitbart âone of the good onesâ?
For a minute during Trumpâs victory speech last night I thought he was going to pivot to a general election footing, Etch-A-Sketch his fascist persona and give us the kinder, gentler, sober and serious rich father figure but as he rambled on the questions apparently got tougher because he slipped back into a fourteen year old spoiled rich kid mocking and condescending.

If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face â forever.
And despite all the lurid stuff, to me this is the direst warning yet, a looming sign of an Orwellian futureâa male campaign aide roughing up a female reporter and getting away with it. The strong abusing the weak whenever they wish. And the mechanisms broken down that once imposed a minimal level of civilization and suppressed the state-of-nature chaos and brutalism you get when you canât imagine or donât desire a kind and decent sort of society.

The sooner the Republican Cult as it now stands is tossed onto the trash heap of history, the better for this republic and this planet. If THIS is what a majority of voters want (the majority of those who show up at the polls) in November, however, we are all the worse for it and our survival as a republic is in jeopardy. SO at his rallies, Trump berates the press, calls them the worst kind of liars and get his crowd to boo them. This is standard Fox, âdonât trust anyone but us stuff.â But then he turns on Fox. Not just Megyn Kelly, but Ailes and Murdock as well. Now, Breitbart. So by the time he is elected, his followers will believe no one but him. All thatâs left is to create a commissioner of propaganda.
There is a reason the founders put freedom of the press in the First Amendment. Now Trump is replacing it with freedom to suppress the press. This is dangerous territory. I fear for our future.

We are getting a glimpse into an absurd, alternate reality, where nothing is legitimate. Breitbart is not a news organization. And Trump is not a political campaign. Itâs like the Enlightenment never happened.

I have to wonder about this one, considering the lockstep among most right-wing media. Whatâs the protocol in general when a reporter stands in front of a moving candidate and wonât get out of the way?
I felt bad for this poor soul when I read she works for Breitbart, but just then, when I thought it couldnât get any worse for her, I see sheâs dating a gent from The Daily Caller.
The bruises are the least of her worries.
