Discussion: Report: Trump Aides Nixed Meeting With Putin Ally Over Alleged Mob Ties

Now how is Trump supposed to finance his empire – besides the tax payers – without Russian Mob money?

It’s how he’s gotten where he is today.

Would have thought that would have made the meeting even more imperative. Must have been his ties were to that one mob group that Trump doesn’t owe money to.

These forces just seem to have gravitational pull towards each other. What, really, are the chances of ordinary Americans having so many coincidental meeting opportunities with Russian mobsters??

OT… (but still Russia-related)

So much winning.

And Trump’s Twitter feed is looking more pointless and defeated by the day. Golf your sorrows away, Ladyfingers.

The original Yahoo News article goes into Mr. Torshin’s previous money laundering via real estate attempts, including trying to buy a hotel in Mallorca “for his daughter”. The context of this story certainly should be Trump’s Russian mob money connections.

Very probably someone tipped them off that they would be surveilled if they went forward with the meeting, and Trump freaked out. In the timeline of things, this incident predates Trump’s surveillance tweets by a full month, so before they knew what was going on.

If I were Schumer, I would tie this story to the Gorsuch nomination.
The point isn’t whether Gorsuch is qualified.
There are two issues. The first is the Garland nomination; the second is that a SCOTUS nomination by a President who appears to be mobbed up cannot be allowed to stand. There is a cloud over the Presidency.

So now…now… DT wants to clean up his act

What a frigging joke

You know your country’s in bad shape when it’s news that the President didn’t meet with a mobbed up Russian banker.

I’m more infuriated with the “we need to let Gorsuch through so McConnell won’t use the nuclear option” folks – as if somehow holding fire now will keep McConnell from invoking it when Drumpf nominates Kennedy’s or Ginsberg’s replacement.

Gee, why the policy change?

Ain’t if ironic that Grassley whines about democrats doing a filibuster about Judge Gorsuch yet republicans would not even have a courtesy meeting with Merrick Garland to be polite to him because that black man playing a one term President nominated him.

It’s too early for bourbon…I’m gonna water my garden instead.

“However, an unnamed national security aide at the White House who reviewed a guest list flagged Torshin as being someone with “baggage,” according to the report.”

I can imagine how that went: “Hey Donnie, just so you know. I know Torshin pretty well. He’s good people–we done a lot of jobs together, made a bunch of money, fleeced a whole bunch of stooges. But he’s not always as careful as he should be–doesn’t always bury the bodies afterwards, if you know what I mean. So definitely someone you want to meet eventually, but with all these Feds around right now it’s not a good time.”

Go figure, a Russian bankster who launders mob money is attending the national prayer breakfast (with all those greed head ministers) so he can “officially” meet the man who has helped him launder so much mob money.

Trump is so mobbed up he thinks whacking somebody is a business expense.

Trump: I do know how to Pivot. … But I did meet him in private. It helps everyone, especially me.

Torshin is also member of the National Rifle Association (NRA)

So much for a “good guy with a gun”… “Good guy” who only has “people” who are thugs with guns?
