President Trump wants to speed up tax relief to the 1% immediately following the destruction of Harvey and Irma and before any serious cost estimates have been done. OK - that makes sense./s

Politico reported, citing two unnamed sources familiar with the planned meeting, that Mnuchin and Cohn will meet with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and members of the Senate Budget Committee to try and figure out how to pass a budget.

I recommend they watch Schoolhouse Rock for starters. You know, just to get a feel.

If you need to spend money on wars or natural disasters then naturally you need to cut taxes.

The Horrific and Cringeworthy ā€˜80s have time-machined an emissary to retrieve their Horrific and Cringeworthy tax policies. Give him Trumpā€™s Trickle Down Plan and heā€™ll be bookinā€™.

With more tax cuts."

Iā€™m no fan of McConnell, but he just got humiliated by Trump on the debt ceiling. And now heā€™s supposed to trust Trump on the budget and tax reform? I think itā€™ll be an interesting negotiation at the very least.

And all this intraparty squabbling is before the Dems get their hands in.

Remember voodoo economics? It turns out Trump is the Joe Isuzu of American politics!

Iā€™m probably out of the loop. But all I hear about ā€œtax reformā€ is lowering taxes on corporations (who never pay the 35%) and the very wealthy. It would be great to hear about the loopholes Trump wants to close.

Donā€™t hold your breath waiting to hear about them.

Donā€™t forget all the ā€œassistanceā€ Trump provided on Obamacare repeal.

And the only prescription is more Tax Cuts for the top 1%!

Well friends, now that Donald has leaked to Axios of Evil that he has some work to do to restore his popularity to Kim Jung Un 100% levels, thingsā€™ll be different. Heā€™s going to specify posthaste and in exhaustive detail a)the statutory and administrative changes required to MAGA without violating the normative codicils of Federalism and b)complete legislative campaigns, with fallback strategies, and exhaustive cost-benefit analyses under various scenarios for the tradeoffs that will be required to, as a start, reform the entire tax code and regulatory apparatus. The presentation will be either late Monday or Tuesday.

This will of course use the summary presented by Cohn and Mā€™nuthinā€™ a few months ago as a starting point. Stephen Millerā€™s interns are putting the finishing touches on the second page right now.

Mā€™nuthinā€™ himself is as usual warming up for the actual presentation by announcing a few bus arrivals in Bethesda.

Remember taht the budget resolution does not have the force of law.

Itā€™s just a list of suggestions. Congressional appropriations are the real deal, and those are not done by such meetings.

If theyā€™re going to talk to the Senate Budget Committee they should include DeVos so she can proctor the test on remedial arithmetic for GOPers. And who is going to explain the awesome power of magical asterisks in the absence of Paul ā€œBudget Wonkā€ Ryan?

A budget?
Why
Thereā€™s a continuing Resolution that funds the government until December ā€¦Why do we need a budget I mean one was passed in 2015ā€¦ for the 1st time in 6 years.

By Tom Howell Jr. -
The Washington Times -

" Tuesday, May 5, 2015 The GOP-led Congress Tuesday passed a full budget for the first time in years, laying out a road map for domestic spending cuts so deep that Democrats dared Republicans to follow through on them, predicting a swift voter backlash."
