( Probably ) someone didn’t sign the papers .

This is beyond stupid in so many ways.
Bad idea that somehow got started - was a disaster just waiting to happen - but because disaster did not happen immediately, the people involved began to think it was just harmless entertainment.

Would you let a 9 year old sky dive?

Would you let a 9 year old drive a genuine 600 horsepower race car on a race track?

Why on earth would anybody be so STUPID & put a rapid firing assault weapon in the hands of a 9 year old - since the recoil will propel them all over the place!

What is brutally pathetic is that if this had not resulted in death, but had only ended up with this poor 9-year-old spraying tons of bullets all over the place - there would have been endless laughter & it would have been a submission for “America’s Funniest Home Videos”

They were gonna say the dog ate 'em but then remembered he was gunned down last year.

Are they sure the forms were not blown away by the 9-year-old?!

Though it may sound like a “dog-ate-my-homework” kind of excuse, this actually seems like it’s pretty bad news for the gun range and it would rather be in their interest to have the release. Presumably the family would have signed a release promising not to hold the gun range responsible for any injuries or other incidents; without the release, it seems like the family could file a lawsuit against the gun range for causing mental anguish and for any hospital expenses for the child’s shoulder injury.

Christ, man, I’m 58 and I still can’t!

If they can’t prove the child was authorized by her parents to use the weapon this should result in additional charges. That is what the release forms are all about right?

Yeah, that would be terrible! /snark

This known as “the dog ate my homework” strategy…

And the dog ate my homework too. That excuse is a boatload of BS.

“Went into the wind” or “likely went into the wind”?
Did anyone see when or where they actually “went?”

I wonder…do the employees sign such a release? And if not…

It looks like more than the instructor…
(puts on sunglasses)
…got blown away.

Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

“‘Our dogma ate the release forms…’”

Or, Dragon.

Actually I used to be pretty good at pointing at the bowl… but then age caught up with me… and that’s not the worst malfunction either!!

Except that they never signed a release and the wind story is a cover for that screwup… I’m sure these idiots are anti government and anti (any kind of) gun regulation, too.

She would have had the coolest “what I did over the summer” story. Now, not so much.
