Exactly!
That’s what I say.
Exactly!
That’s what I say.
Agreed!
Don’t worry! It will all magically clear up in January 2017.
I know, right?
That’s my point too!
And no institutional pride in the Secret Service as a flagship agency that’s the public face of the department. They were to Treasury as the Rangers are to the Army or thr FBI is to Justice.
In a lot of ways, the ideosyncratic anachronism of Treasury being in charge of presidential security was an important part of what kept the Secret Service presidential detail an elite service. Turning then into Just Another Bunch of Guys With Guns in a department full of them was a disaster. Folding Diplomatic Security from State into it only exacerbated the problem.
But then, listening to the guys who think moving around boxes on the T.O. is the solution is almost always a mistake.
Not to worry. “Former Secret Service Agent” will look real good on his Walmart application.
Hummmm…Suddenly I’m beginning to feel, as a taxpayer, a little more ripped off than I used to —
I wonder what detail was sent to the Dumpster —
I know one agent that will be home for the holidays.
Later that day, at a Presidential public appearance:
I saw the guy reaching under his jacket, but I didn’t think he had a gun, so I didn’t bother watching to see what he pulled out.
I’m guessing it was more likely a Jeep with 4WD and the soft top still on. It would be much easier to drive in the winter than a 2WD Miata, however there’s no trunk to store stuff in securely like a Miata would offer.
I think we’re probably looking at the consequences of hiring on the basis of nepotism and other types of personal relationships.
It’s way to easy to put a stop to this. Get into the “Way Back” machine and put the SS back in Treasury and leave it alone. How many times does this kind of crap have to happen before the ones in the know just admit they don’t know WTF they are supposed to be doing? It seems to me that the Prez ain’t supposed leave office while living. It’s the Capitol of the United States not Mayberry RFD.
