Scary thought of Scalise as Majority Leader as it’s the stepping-stone to the Speaker position.

“Scalise has survived at least one problem that brought his role in House
leadership into question. Late last year, news reports surfaced showing
he spoke in 2002 before a white nationalist group tied to former Klu Klux Klan leader David Duke.”

“problem”? Heck, that enhances his appeal to many GOPers. Seriously. Racism is front and center in the GOP.

I actually hope he wins. This can only help boost Democrats’ prospects next year when they can point to the House majority leader as someone who favorably compared himself to a former klansman by saying he’s “David Duke without the baggage”. It will help further draw a clear contrast between the Democrats’ message of inclusion and the Republicans’ message of exclusion, particularly for minority and young voters who are inclined to think “they’re all the same”. Umm no, no, they’re not. One party is led by a KKK sympathizer and one is led by a black man. Couldn’t get any clearer than that.

Majority Leader is the number two to the Speaker.

Makes sense. The racist party should have a racist majority leader.

I hope he gets it!

Maybe, just maybe voters will start paying attention to how awful these gop/bags are!

But, but, but they’re the party of Lincoln! They can’t possibly be racist.

He’s the Klan guy!

The thought of Chafetz as Speaker might have been considered a bit kinky until he did the full McCarthy last week in the Planned Parenthood hearing. Utahans find him having an entitlement issue.

damn… someone is paying attention. and frankly this cartoon will likely have more impact with the public than anything said by his opponents…

“I see your black president and raise you one Klansman house speaker.” Who would ever admit to being a Republican these days.

So the (KKK-simpathizer) has the votes to be next SOH…and Republican keep trying to tell us they are the party of diversity.

Not all diverse things are legitimate.

The Klan, and any sub groups, or affiliates, need to be relegated to the dust bin of history.

And Republicans need to be called out for always courting them.

You got it! And I hold out some very small sliver of hope that maybe, just maybe, having a David Duke admirer as a ranking member of the R Party will force the media to finally openly question if perhaps some of the nastiness aimed at the president might just be a tad bit racially based. Maybe?
