Discussion: Report: Ryan Urges Members To Focus On Spending Bill, Put Health Care On Hold

The funniest part of this whole thing is that in my honest opinion Ryan really is smarter than the other Republicans.

Plus he knows if they took another swing at the ACA they’d strike out and be humiliated AGAIN.

Why put down Pelosi? She wants to expand medical care, not hurt millions like the GOP scum.

Remember when the old pro (like Evert Dirckson and Hubert Humphrey) were working on governing. Probably the golden age of American history… civil rights, education, growing middle class just to mention a few. Will those days ever return? And incidentally, these guys could be very partisan but they knew their job was to govern their goal was to solve problems through compromise.

And all of them felt they would have to answer to their constituents if they didn’t get the job done. That’s the big difference.

The other big difference is that there was at least one issue, Foreign policy, where partisanship was limited. I don’t subscribe to NYT, but Krugman apparently was decrying the bending of everything in the world to domestic politics. That complicates thiings greatly.
@denisj you brought up education. I’ve only intermittently been a teacher, but this war on education is behind a lot of this, including the uninformed electorate. The war is quite intentional.

Trump needs reminding every day, many times a day of his campaign promise: "You will end up with great health care for a fraction of the price and that will take place immediately after we go in. Immediately! Fast! Quick!”

Ryan has no brains, no heart, no guts and no balls-he simply doesn’t have it in him to be anything like Pelosi.

In an interview with Norah O’Donnell on March 29th Paul Ryan said “I don’t want to work with Democrats on health care”.

Keep in mind the Democrats want no part of a health bill that takes away insurance and hurts people. Pelosi and the Democrats will only work to improve the ACA not dismantle it.

Apparently paul ryan studied and graduated with honors at the john boehner speakership school . . . .

Ryan’s job performance is a joke. Despite the fact that “herding” Democrats is difficult, Nancy Pelosi had both skills and balls. Her accomplishments as Speaker are, in my opinion, often underrated.

Nope, he just plays one on TV. Ryan had seven years to work on a replacement. His replacement plan is just like his magical budgets that never seemed to add up. Paul Ryan is as phony as they come. He fooled the media and his caucus into believing he was the smart one.

This is going to be fun! Will it be Liar in Chief or Scary speaker, who wins this crossword puzzle?

I’ve always been more tolerant than some of the governance pressure that pushes Democrats to try to work with Republicans, but I’m pleased with one part of the current situation. Pelosi, Schumer and their whips are twice as smart as their Repbublican counterparts. They’re well aware of that saying that when your enemy is destroying himself, don’t get in his way. I hope next year brings a chance to improve ACA

Yep you nailed it. Ryan, whose family survived thanks to social security (and Medicare iirc) now does all he can to gut our social welfare system. He is full of shit.

I said smarter than the other Republicans.
Edit: I’m wisecracking constantly about my Dream Ticket of Pence and Kevin McCarthy. The fact that Ryan even has a gift of gab–albeit phony–makes him smarter than these two. Tom Price is stupider than any of the doctors I worked with(I was a pharmacy tech).Palin? Gohmert? Steve King? Trump might be smarter , but he’s wacko, doesn’t count.

Meanwhile the Obama-Clinton Democrats fumble and stagger around yet again!

The Repukes have been handing power to us for years…and we follow Obama into the den of spineless empty rhetoric and nothing else.

Fuck - refusing to break up the giant banks and the monopolies which is why we don’t have decent jobs. Fuck - refusing universal healthcare via Medicare for all. Fuck - refusing to instating a mandatory military service for all - especially white rich brats.

Fuck - Obama and Clinton Democrats gave us no light from the Republican propaganda.

Obama’s legacy: a spineless idiot afraid to lead but gave great speeches!

Vote socialism!

Is it any wonder that the approval rating for Congress hovers around 10%?

I see what you did there. There’s always an ACA joke in there with this crew. Their time in office can’t end soon enough.
