Discussion: Report: RNC Pauses Its Victory Project For Trump

All these years Issa and friends have been frantically trying to locate some dirt on BO. No luck. So what does the GOP do? Nominate the biggest dirtbag in presidential history and has it blow up in their faces before the election even happens. Couldn’t happen to more deserving folks.

A Victory Project for Drumpf when he is losing in the polls. Who knew that losing would be called a victory to the GOTP.

His original announcement at Trump Tower when he descended the escalator was an omen for the future of his campaign and Presidential aspirations. So. Be. It.

The info was always there. I’m glad Hillary is in the ring with him, but lord, if anyone could lose against this nonstop tidal wave of revelations they’d have to be … wow, I just can’t think of a metaphor bad enough.

In the time left, Hillary’s camp could saddle him with all the tape of him defending/promoting HOTOG and ask what kind of trustworthy person would put their values on hold for the VP slot.

Still, I hope they’ve got an oppo group gaming this out based on the 11/8 deadline.

Its going to fun watching Trump squirm for the next month. He will be boasting about how women, and blacks love him until the end I suppose.

So basically the RNC is stopping fund raising for Trump.

Oh, I know you’re right and Josh is right and all the Dem cognoscenti that are pooh-poohing my concerns are correct. But there’s that little sliver of doubt in my heart that’s saying What if the GOP is actually truly pissed off at DT and not just issuing proforma soundbites to cover their asses? What if they’re pissed off enough to DO something about it??

But then my head stages an intervention and the shadows of fearful political drama fade away. At least until the next anxiety attack. Of course this avalanche of castigation rushing down the slopes of Mt. GOPer is strictly ass-covering behavior. Because years and years and years of documentable comments from the (usually but not always) less-intellectually-endowed members demonstrate that damned near anything is A-okay as long the perpetrator has an “R” after their name.

But still. It ain’t over until the last vote is litigated, er, I mean counted. Nothing should be taken for granted until then.

Of course…In fact, Dems tend to be peace-lovers and GOPPERS brawlers…meaning that, for me, the GOTV for Hillary on 8 November should be as though the country depends of it (because it does).

We tend to be snarky and easy-going. They tend to be cruel and persistent. We have to vote Hillary in. Jill Stein and Gary Johnson, while nice folks, will not get MY vote.

This is important:

When you go to vote, TAKE A FRIEND.

I know and it was an attempted sarcasm, apparently unsuccessful. I was thinking whether to put tidal wave in quotes but did not do it… Anyway, it was explicitly hope of Trump and his supporters that white men without college degrees would show up in never before seen numbers.

Thanks for mentioning Issa, a major dbag. Was aggravating to hear fellow dbag Chaffetz going holier than-thou in Trump outrage on Friday. Next up is Mr. pointy-head Trey Gowdy. They are all in the basket of deplorables.

the RNC was taking some time to figure out the best next step.

Rinse told the Donnie to play nice! What else do you expect from him?

Well, they’ll always have impeachment to sustain them.

Not that they need my advice, because they seem to know what they’re doing, but I hope the Clinton camp has a nuclear fucking bomb ready to drop on Mike Pence if he somehow becomes the GOP nominee. He may not be the creepy groping kind of pig like Trump, but he is so anti-woman, so anti-gay, it’s not even funny.

Most Americans have no clue about him or his views, and seeing how the press fawned over his 90-minute lie-a-thon during the VP debate - because he didn’t interrupt!!! - he has to be skinned alive if he gets the nomination. And they don’t need any “hot mic banter” tapes, just make sure people know his repugnant views and policies.

Remember Don this is about YOU and not Hillary or Bill. You own it Mr Stud.

Trying to deflect the spotlight from will not work. He will be held accountable for his SEXIST nasty situation. YOU’RE GUILTY DONALD TRUMP.

They cannot just make him the nominee. People would have to write him in. Ballots are already being cast, and ballots have been printed in multiple states, including Texas.

This could potentially be a disaster for the GOP. If they keep turning on Trump, he will start a civil war and direct his supporters to only vote for him. Could possibly split party support?

If Democrats play this right and go hard, I think the House is on the table… tough but possible.

There is NO mechanism for “removing” a party’s nominee from the ticket. That’s a hard stop right there. Trump was affirmed by the GOP at their convention by the party, and short of death, or quitting, he stays. Period.

I see some commenters here patting journalists on the back. The piles of Tronald Dump excrement were there for years and they only started to report on it when it started to impede their access to the snack machines in the hall. Better late than never but don’t lay it on too thick.

As far as journalists what Sinclair said stands: (my apologies for the early 20th Century sexism)

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something,
when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!"

Note to self: Start stocking up on popcorn and alcohol for Election Night. I might even flip over to Fox News when the race is called just to see the looks on their faces. I did that during both of President Obama’s wins. Delicious.
