Discussion: Report: Peter Thiel Says Trump Admin 'Incompetent,' May End In 'Disaster'

Nice early judgment, Peter Thiel. Too late to go on record now and make a bs prediction.

It was plainly obvious years ago that Trump is incompetent. Anyone who can’t see that is living in a bubble of their own making. How hard is it to just pay attention?

Oh yeah, that’s right - the media is fake news, anything I don’t agree with is fake news, yada yada.

50% chance of ending in disaster seems pretty conservative.

Like many self-described libertarians, Thiel is a hardcore right winger who for social reasons won’t accurately label himself as a Republican.

No one would make excuses and blithely say “I’ll give them a chance, take a wait and see attitude” when explaining to friends why they employed a blithering nutjob to watch their kids. Yet people will take that approach to Donald Trump watching over 325 million people.

Supporting incompetence is so Libertarian.

Libertarians don’t really exist. They are conservatives who are out of power and will revert to authoritarianism when they get it back. Note how frauds like Rand Paul are the biggest grovelling pro-regime bootlickers now. Or how pro gun groups actually turn into pro police brutality groups when black people are the victims.

There are just very few people of the mindset that government should leave everyone alone and I won’t impose my views/values on everyone if given the chance.

Suffice it to say, Thiel is a fascist who is now trying to muddy the waters despite the fact he was all in supporting Trump at the beginning.

I have a neighbor who is a “self-described libertarian”, but now that’s he turned 65 he’s given himself a dispensation for one day every month.

Per Pliny The Elder: ‘When a building is about to fall down, all the mice desert it’.

You are right. Rand Paul wants to criminalize abortion and mindlessly supports Trump. He doesn’t criticize Don the Con and almost always rubberstamps his proposals. Many of Paul’s positions are entirely at odds with libertarianism.

And to make sure none of that real “fake news” gets out.

Donald Trump tried to ban the media from covering his golf outings as he relaxes during his taxpayer-funded vacation, but pictures and video of him goofing off have already surfaced.

White House aide and Nazi sympathizer Seb Gorka said in July that Trump was justified in taking off the month of August because he’s been “crushing it” as president.
Trump did not allow the traveling White House press pool to go with him to the Trump National Golf Club over the weekend. Instead, as they reported, they were stuck “in a windowless conference room at the Marriott in Bridgewater, N.J.,” 12 miles away from Trump’s club. White House officials did not tell the press what Trump would be up to that day.

Wow. With such wee tiny hands, how does he grip his club?

I have one friend who is a true libertarian. He has never voted GOP or Democratic. He’s a rare bird indeed.

"he did not think Trump would win reelection, according to the report. "

Ya think? With 33% approval I thought he would be a shoo-in.

It’s so helpful to have wise leaders clarifying things for the rest of us!

Further support:

Well, obviously, they exist — just not in any remotely large enough numbers to form a constituency. It’s not just hardcore libertarians who are absent. Even vaguely libertarian-ish voters are functionally nonexistent.
The study breaks down voters into four quadrants, defined by both social and economic liberalism. But virtually everybody falls into three quadrants: socially liberal/economically liberal; socially conservative/economically conservative; and socially conservative/economically liberal. The fourth quadrant, socially liberal/economically conservative, is empty:
