Of course, Kim knew about these exercises at least a year in advance. Boy, is this a surprise. And Dumbo Don the Con BlowHard has painted his little self into a corner.
What will he give up and which ally will he betray to get his “deal”? And, of course, “noble” Kim will of course stick by whatever "deal"is concocted, knowing full well the Con Man has already reneged on at least three multilateral agreements and knowing his father and grandfather have reneged on past deals with the US.
And what else will Kim ask for now that Don the Con Traitor is so desperate for a WIN???
Ah, but we have Mr. “Art of the Deal” to negotiate. What’s to worry?

I am a bit struck by Kim’s strength in this gambit. Maybe he was going to escalate all along until he felt it was the optimal time to bail.
If Trump is belligerent then the time is now. If Trump gave in (he won’t) then it would be a massive propaganda win at home for Kim and he would queue up the next demand.

They deserved more respect. At least they have a useful purpose.
Trump is stuck.
He praised Kim so much and we all watched him get played so openly and disgustingly, with the return of prisoners who never should have been taken, Trump begging for the Nobel Prize, and of course, because he has no knowledge or desire to read recent history of North Korea’s routine reversals on any deals, he can’t say a goddamn thing.
If he criticizes Kim, the meeting is off. If he makes excuses or blames anyone else for what he ‘owned’, he proves to the world that he fails to understand the Art of the Deal. And, his own DOD has already said the drills will go on, so he can’t tell the military to stand down.
As noted before, in his quest to look so smart, he has literally given Kim the status he wanted, North Korea to dictate to the U.S., and China control over North Korea and the far Pacific. All in two fucking weeks.

Every time it looks like Trump might get some leverage or a win he finds a way to screw it up. He was so obviously needy he telegraphed this outcome. Putin might get jealous that Xi and Kim are encroaching on his puppet. I wonder who Trump will blame for this one?
