They were friends right? I get why’d they do it but, i want that awful Meghan as far away from any Dem as possible
I do think that the Republicans have changed, inching closer and closer to madness every year as the vapidity of their supposed policy positions became more and more obvious. At least a semblance of substance has now completely given way to little but blind hatred, which really isn’t a cohesive policy. Reagan could not win an election under the current party, ironically in part due to his own role in that progression.
Better yet, what does perpetual failed campaign manager Steve Schmidt think?
Speaking of Steve, Whatever happened to his latest failed presidential candidate, Howard “Mr. Teeth” Shultz?
I actually doubt how influential the McCain card still is. Seems to me that it’s Dems who love to bring him up every once in a while. But the more they do that, the more it seems insincere because it’s quite obvious that Dems are using McCain to attract Nevertrumpers. I don’t think they’ll easily buy it.
Also in 2016, there were rumors that the Bushes were endorsing Hillary and at least very unpleasant with Trump. That didn’t help either.
This is admittedly some DELICIOUS spite
So does Arpaio.
Why is this a snub, the McCains were never going to support Trump, hell they told him not to come to John’s funeral, of course Miz Lindsey went ahead and invited Ivanka and Jared anyway and then they were forced to sit there while Meghan racked Princess Sparkle Plenty’s dad over the coals.
Yup, the cat is already out of the bag…
“Look, I have investigators in Bangladesh looking for his Black out of wedlock daughter and they are finding things that are incredible.” – Trump, probably.
Short answer (on my way out the door): it depends on ‘buyer’s remorse’. Maybe there’s a lot of country club, middle class Republicans who are willing to finish the job and end all of this. The thing is, HRC (borderline) relied on those same voters and here we are…
Yeah, since the day after Lincoln was shot! Didn’t you never hear about that time when Republican’ts plotted a coup d’etat against Franklin Roosevelt while simultaneously bankrolling the Nazi War Machine in the 1930s? Or how Nixon conspired to blow up the Paris Peace Talks to end the Vietnam war so that it would hurt the Democratic Party’s chances in the 1968 election? Or how Reagan launched his 1980 campaign by giving a racist dog whistle-laden speech about state’s rights mere miles from where three civil rights workers were murdered in Philadelphia, MS? Or how the Reagan campaign conspired with the Iranians to hold the US Embassy hostages until after the 1980 election? No, the Republican’ts haven’t changed. They are just more transparent about their disregard for America and Americans…
Yeah, but they’re all enjoying their Trump Tax Cut, so no…
If the McCain’s endorse Biden tomorrow at the launch then Trump will immediately attack Biden and McCain. Biden can then be:
- The guy who is defending the deceased John McCain. Winning proposition for most voters.
- The guy who leveled a full-throated attack against Trump in his announcement, further increasing his claim to be the only one who can fight and defeat Trump man to man. I fail to see how that is anything but a massive win for Biden. The only “Democratic” constituency that won’t like it are the Bernie-bots who are more than little soft on taking on Trump given their common goals of burning down the country.
Most are, but there might be a few more willing souls suddenly doing ‘Now This’ videos.
If either of these geriatric dweebs is the nominee I’ll vote for Joe or Bernie even if it means holding my nose with a bag over my head.
Aha…a grown-up…
1000 likes. Rethugs have been sabotaging democracy since Nixon.
I think you are conveniently forgetting about the great shift in the parties after Civil Rights were passed. In any case, Lincoln certainly would not recognize the current Republican party.
Lincoln would recognize the current rethug party’s attachment to corporations. The racial flip is something different.
I still see it as a question of degree, motivation and self-imposition of limitations. To say that Republicans are exactly as they have always been seems utterly ahistorical to me.
