Edson Arantes do Nascimento is a great legend, sportsman, and a wonderful guy who does not take himself too seriously. Chinaglia, was a drama queen, show off, asshole, and blowhard. Which was much more Trump’s style.
Chinaglia was a total asshole to team mate Pele when they played together on the NY Cosmos. And just as Trump ended up destroying the USFL as owner of the NJ Generals, so did Chinaglia with the NY Cosmos and the NASL. From Sports Illustrated, May 21, 1979:
