Trump has a cunning plan (Blackadder reference intended):
(1) Have Sessions establish that being “less than candid” under oath is a firing offense.
(2) Fire Sessions for being less than candid under oath.
(3) Meet younger porn star.
By Sessions’s own logic, doesn’t this mean he must be fired?
Agreed. Pretty weak tea. ‘Nice, next?’ Is a pretty good way to crush something in a meeting.
Besides, it is probable that they had already made better connections.
Being a shameless liar won’t harm Sessions. In fact, Trump, who himself lies about everything, likes it. When an administration is an ongoing criminal conspiracy, all normal rules of decency and lawfulness mean nothing.
And not one of the three witnesses has anything stronger.
As you suggest, it’s a good thing there’s other evidence that’s a little more compelling.
Is that the same as “Red Scare?”
Ha, me thinks the Trumpsters are throwing Lil Beauregard under the bus.
My thoughts exactly. But it’s subtle, not Trump’s style. Maybe the impetus is coming from Trump, but not the strategy.
It’s not nice to mess with long-established organizations (imperfect as they are) tasked with protecting America.
There won’t be anything left of Sessions by the time he’s done.
What! Sessions lied? Noooooooo ! Not the elf.
It’s probably not mayonnaise, but “Miracle” Whip.
Sad.
You’re right - it has to be Miracle Whip and there isn’t anything any sadder, you’re right about that too.
Trump is out of his league for so many reasons.
Just imagine the shortened career that Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III would have had were he a lowly FBI agent and had to answer for this lie. Or even the Deputy Director of said outfit who was fired “for lack of candor” as outlined in the IG’s report that we ordinary civilians aren’t allowed to see as we have zero status in the trump dictarorship.
Mr Mueller …sir … it is now past time for you to lower the boom on all things trump related both personal and businesswise. We are in need of some criminal indictments, sir.
He’s definitely got some Spuckler in his genes, and I suspect, some “manura” in his shorts.
If "“[t]hree people who attended the March campaign meeting” and subsequently “gave their version of events to FBI agents or congressional investigators probing Russian interference in the 2016 election” — said, in Reuters’ words, that “Sessions had expressed no objections to Papadopoulos’ idea.” … then …
When the Dems regain control of the House, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions can expect to be referred for prosecution for lying to Congress.
A random post but good for a yuk.

“The outlet noted that one named source who attended the meeting, J.D. Gordon, the Trump campaign’s director of national security, stood by a November statement in which he said Sessions had strongly opposed the idea.”
Y’know, I can’t really explain it, but for some reason I’m not sure I believe this member of Donald Trump’s campaign. I mean, they have such a stellar reputation and everything.
It’s called an NDA.
It’s like a bad GOP version of “Lifeboat”… except we all know the general order of which character goes when - based on the degree of Hair Furor’s mania
