Actually, I think it is boredom. There is not much to write about on the Democratic side so the media types have to create a click worthy lede.
We all understand that if Gore had been elected and bush not appointed, we would not have A Mess OâPotamia on our hands for the rest of the century, but Gore had no personality or sense of humor then and very likely doesnât now, that quality called bonhomie.
Aaaaah! Exorcise it from the conversation!!! The power of christ compels youâŚthe power of christ compels you!!!
Joe The Lobbyist is working frantically to try to shoot down the Iran deal the President wants. How Gore settled on him Iâll never understand.
I think itâs the woman candidate doesnât want to do any of that icky stuff involved in a campaign, just issue statements from an undisclosed location until the coronation.
Iâve never seen a better demonstration of âit takes one to know oneâ.
Oh please. I am a woman and would love to vote for a woman candidate for president. I would have signed up to work for Warren in a heartbeat. But I really donât have the same enthusiasm or confidence in Hillary â and I know I am not alone. That is why we keep seeing these elder statesmenâs names floated. I remember the 2008 all too well and think her campaign will implode again from hubris and/or scandal. At least let it happen early enough in the primaries so that another candidate can emerge.
I donât think it has anything to do with" people behind the scenes are getting about Hillaryâs chances". Its about a bored news media, or at least those covering the Democratic campaign. Barring a medical emergency or some other catastrophe, Hillary is going to winâŚby a lot. And that is worse than boring to todayâs horse race media. The only way they can cope is to A) Theorize about how her campaign is imploding or B) Introduce Phantom CandidatesâŚthe more the merrier, so they could actually have something to poll.
They have been trotting out Gore as a potential candidate every election cycle since 2000. He isnât running. I will even be mildly surprised if Biden decides to run. The only way more people are getting into the Democratic race is if Hillary ends her campaign. And thatâs not happening.
This isnât accurate. There was a masseuse who accused him of inappropriate touching during a massage. No charges were filed due to lack of evidence.
But we kept hearing similar stories leading up to 2012. Itâs basically the same âDEMOCRATS IN DISARRAYâ BS the media likes to trot out there.
His Presidential dreams are hidden away forever in a lockbox.
17 GOP candidates just shows how vibrant and deep their bench is, however. And I still come back to a republican lady my father works with that canât stand any of themâŚ
Well â it looks like she is realistically unopposed (except for Sanders) so I hope you are right. I will vote for her if there is no choice, but I know damned well that there are many people who voted enthusiastically for Obama who might not even bother to vote this time. Weâll have to scare voters to the polls â instead of inspiring them. I think that is pathetic.
I would prefer to have as President someone not so closely aligned with Wall Street, someone who never served on the Wal-Mart board of directors, someone who was not immediate family to ANYONE else who has previously served as President of the United States.
Itâs a goddamned tragedy that Warren chose not to run.
It was a long time ago. I didnât remember all the details. Maybe they were already divorced when that happened.
Of the many comments you have made that I considered shallow, uninformed and kneejerkish, this would be one of them.
I went on Hillaryâs Facebook and there are lots of enthusiastic voters for Hillary. I am one of them.
I have absolutely no idea what Webb thinks he is doing unless he believes the position is president of the Confederate States & Iâm guessing that Chaffee & OâMalley are actually running for VP. I canât think of anything Gore would bring to the party except to get us closer to the ridiculous number of candidates currently turning the GOP into a side show, that is to say, more so than usual,
Please, Mr. Gore, no, just no.
Good for you.
The interesting dynamic I keep seeing is, the anti-Hillary crowd is not the progressives, by and large. Its the more moderate Dems.
Progressives are high on Sanders, and are saying the typical things one expects to hear from someone supporting their candidate. I am not particularly concerned about them showing up in the general, they always do, much more reliably than the right wing of the Dem party.
What really disturbs me about this, is at at the same time, they arenât gathering around OâMalley, or trying to draft someone elseâŚthey are just down on Hillary.
At least I have tried to get Castro to consider a run, and have been beating his drum on here and other sites as well. Much to my chagrin, he isnât. So I am getting over it. But to just say, âHillary is bad, the party is doomed, I am going go eat some wormsâ, makes no sense to me.
Perhaps that is why there is a less âanti Hillaryâ vibe from the progressives. They HAVE a candidate. Rest of the anti-Hillary folks apparently donât.
