Transferring or spending campaign cash on personal items is against the law.

He’ll be sitting on the sidelines pretty shortly probably before Iowa.

Hope he won’t be able to start a campaign in the first place.

Not if Putin provides the beer.

That was Trump’s plan… then he started picking up steam.

He’s already shown his political instincts are poor. I can’t see him hitting the threshold to participate in the debates.

Moulton is my congressman, and I am less impressed all the time. If he had a decent challenger in the next primary I would seriously consider changing horses. He lost me on the Pelosi challenge. While I agree the Dem leadership could use some youth, I don’t see him as the next guy unless he proves himself by actually accomplishing something.

In this respect he and Beto are in the same boat - and maybe Sanders too - of candidates without having really done anything - but the last two are a lot more inspiring speakers.

He claims he is running because he is a ā€œpatriotā€

Nothing is new under the sun.

ā€œMommy spanked me, so now I’m going to eat some worms.ā€

Or basically, my ass is getting primaried out of my safe Democratic seat and this is the only way for me to grift a little bit more into my retirement account.

Not at the moment, but there were two of them in '18 who actually had support from the CBC.

Though they didn’t say it, both saw that they were being used by the Moultons and the fanboy activists and just like that, they backed Pelosi.

This is just an image inflating move for someone whose ego is larger than his brain.

The candidates in the race aren’t patriots? Moulton needs a better reason if he expects to be taken seriously.

It is about image boosting but probably more about raising this profile for future runs at higher office. I think Swalwell is in a similar situation. I doubt that either make it to Iowa.

That said, after the Pelosi fiasco, he should be worried about mending fences back in his district rather than higher office. I live in a bordering district and think Moulton is a good fit for his district which is a tad more moderate than the rest of Massachusetts.

To those that put him in the Gabbard/Putin camp, I’ve not seen or heard this. Is this a somewhat credible rumor?

He is right about Patriotism as a campaign issue. You have to attack an opponent’s self-identified strengths. Trump thought that hugging a flag makes you a patriot, it doesn’t. Hugging Putin makes you a traitor. Similarly, Trump campaigned on his deal making. He hasn’t made any with Congress and has bungled N.Korea and trade talks. Similarly, Trump campaigned on strength, but he is so weak his subordinates ignore his orders and he doesn’t do anything about it.
