It would take some intense Googling to get the relevant information, but there was a female FBI agent in maybe Minneapolis who tried to alert the administration that there were men taking flying lessons (in Florida I believe), and all they wanted to learn was how to take off and possibly to land but nothing in between. The FBI agent failed to get anyone’s attention and I believe she testified at the 9/11 Commission.

Well… that is not true - “no responsibility” ! Bush was advised about concerns and threats but he was too new in the job to understand what it meant; but Bush had been warned.
The entire GOP mantra is just to make stuff up and blame everyone but themselves for the bad stuff that happens because they know that 1/2 the country is dumb as dirt and doesn’t pay attention to facts. Talking points are their truth if it comes from their team.
Pete, you are correct Bushie had nothing to do with the planning or execution of the attack… However, Pete he had 10,000% to do with the wanton ignorance, with allowing the planners family to fly out of the country and for all we know to allow Ben Ladin himself to be on one of those flights. He also takes 10,000% responsibility for the aftermath that killed thousand, wasted trillions, tortured hundreds, ruined the US name and standing in the world and created the unstable Middle East we know of today and the ME that will remain unstable for decades to come.
