There are still major questions looming about Goodlatte’s staff’s involvement in the executive order. For example, did Goodlatte’s staff sign nondisclosure agreements to work with Trump’s transition, which would have barred staffers from discussing their work with their boss or congressional leadership, as has been reported.

Why would anyone consider a “non-disclosure agreement” binding or even legal? The U.S government is not a private entity.

I still see the fingers of Steve Bannon all over this, and suspect we are watching an effort to conduct a coup in which the office of the President takes complete control of the federal government.

I don’t. It’s far simpler than that. Peepee and his transition team did such a monumentally horrible job setting up his transition that he didn’t have the right people in place to craft his EOs effectively. What’s worse is that he’s so paranoid that he didn’t trust anyone within the DOJ, since their not “his people”, to go to them for help with the Constitutionality of the EO. And because one congressman out of 538 is trying to save face by claiming, “Hey, guys! I wasn’t fooled. I knew all along. This was all part of the plan” doesn’t somehow mean Peepee is taking over the federal government.

It’s not just Goodlatte. WatchingTrump’s meeting on “cybersecurity” signals that they think it’s all over but the crying. We’re moving ahead with a crony capitalism model, whereby everything is based on connections with or at least not offending Trump. Everything goes through Trump and the ability to mete out punishment resides with Trump. At least in their minds, it looks like we’ve already transitioned to the New World Order.

NDAs regarding federal employees are frankly unenforceable.
Federal law requires that those employees be free to testify about their work, their work environment, and the orders they receive.
Those NDAs also violate the 1st Amendment, because they amount to government restraints on free speech.

Because government employees technically work for us. Obviously, there are NDAs for handling classified information, but anything that DT would have federal employees sign beyond traditional NDAs would likely be for the purpose of covering something up.
