Time for a younger Democrat.

Well congressman when you don’t put in your work ,that’s what happens.

I see a shortsighted tricky game of a bad politician doing harm to one of the LIONS of the house.

The moment this gets in front of a judge, Conyers will be back on the ballot. Rules that limit who can circulate a petition have been struck down again and again in federal courts.

I have to ask the question; Why weren’t they registered to vote? If they are astute enough to wander around getting signatures for a prominent politician surely they would know enough to be registered. This has been a hot topic for some time now.

The law is absurd, but so is the idea that the Senator and his campaign workers didn’t know the law.

They weren’t volunteers. They were paid to collect the names and the campaign never made it a criteria.

You’re leaving out the best part of the story. One of the petition collectors hired by the Conyer’s campaign has a criminal record and wanted by the police.

I agree. Whether this law is absurd or unconstitutional, until it is repealed or overturned it must be followed. The Conyer campaign should have been aware of it and saw to it that it was followed. It was an oversight that may cost him a chance at re-election.

take one of the largest run black cities in shit michigan-check
take away over 2000 signatures from a prominent black congressman-check
talk from phony progressives about the need for a younger candidate-check

these bogus and blatantly racist tactics only strengthens the resolve of the oppressed.

Why should it be? Don’t you expect those who have no problem making laws, to follow the law? Why should anyone worry about this? If he is such a great Representative and has been there as long as he has, his supporters shouldn’t have a problem with writing his name in.

What has he done to be a LION of the House? Or do you mean one of the LIARS of the House?

Obviously you slept through the Bush years.

So Bush was a member of the House? Or do you assume that I have a high opinion of Bush simply because I don’t care for Members of Congress who have been around since the 60s? This may suprise you but the one thing both Democrats and Republicans have in common is they both are say whatever they need to in order to get elected and re-elected over and over and over. If you think one party is better than the other with regards to trust and honesty, then I actually feel sorry for you.

I’m sorry, how exactly is a candidate failing to follow the rules for getting on the ballot racist? This is 100% a failing of the campaign chairman, whose job it is to make sure that the requisite signatures were collected in accordance with the law. He did not do that. Race does not enter into it at all.

Of course, I believe in term limits for congress people, so I guess that would make me a phoney progressive.

it’s a waste of my time to engage someone who is culturally ignorant.

Answer the question.

I thought the exact same thing before replying to you, but I gave it a shot anyway. Do me a favor and try to answer how that is racist.

Would you feel differently if I told you that Wayne County Clerk Cathy Garrett (the person who made the decision) is a black Democrat? Still think this was motivated by race?
