Discussion: Reid Says GOP 'Treated President Obama With Unprecedented Disrespect'

Trump, Reid said, “is the monster Republicans built.”

“He is their Frankenstein monster. They own him,” he said.

That is the unvarnished truth. Refreshing.

Senator Reid, much like our President, has no more fucks to give. He has nothing to lose, and it is refreshing to hear the truth from a politician. I despise the idea of term limits, on principle, but maybe it’s the only way to keep the system a bit honest. I would prefer public financing and a British-style mandatory short campaign season, but then again, I want a pony and ice cream.

Give 'em hell, Harry! Sadly, the viscous racists and opportunistic hustlers that populate so much of the Republican party won’t ever stop in their attempts to frag the Commander In Chief.

Reid is exactly right.

@dickweed

Reid is probably talking about this. The senate overrode the president’s veto of a bill by 97-1 for the first time in his presidency. Reid was the lone vote to not override. The bill goes to the House where they will also override. The president warned against overriding because of the already complicated relations the US has with Saudis.

“They would have us believe that Trump just fell out of the sky and somehow mysteriously became the nominee of the party, but that’s not the way it is,” Reid said. “Everything that he’s said, stood for, done in this bizarre campaign that he’s run has come, filtered up, from what’s going on in the Republican Senate.”

"Trump, Reid said, “is the monster Republicans built.”

“He is their Frankenstein monster. They own him,” he said."

Enough said!

“President Obama is the first President to be denied a hearing on his budget…the first President to be denied a hearing on a Supreme Court nominee…the first President asked to show his birth certificate…the first President to face over 500 filibusters.”

I can think of another thing he’s the first President to be…

And that thing seems to matter a lot to the GOP base.

A working class man who rises to the level of a great American Statesman gives an important address on the Senate floor: most of the press ignores it.

A privleged windbag born with a silver spoon in his mouth who never served this country in any way whatsoever expands on his thoughts about a beauty contestesant: ALERT THE PRESSES.

If the goddess of elections smiles on us in November, we will have another first with all that it implies.

Everything that he’s said, stood for, done in this bizarre campaign that he’s run has come, filtered up, from what’s going on in the Republican Senate.

Rock 'em, sock 'em, Harry. Trump is the solely owned monster of the GOP. We’re gonna miss you when you’re gone.

I’d like to see one of these a day while they’re in session listing all the ways the republicans have brought this country down and allowed its infrastructure to crumble with their pandering to the “no new taxes” crowd.

I would expect that to imply 4-8 more years of unprecedented disrespect.

I was thinking about that this morning. Yes it will be as littlegirlblue says, another 4-8 years of (this time “precedented”) disrespect, but I guess this is what we (Hillary and the country) have to push through to get us (hopefully) on the other side. How exhausting.

It will also open a can of worms with regard to litigation towards the US
