Another disgustingly racist Republican ad.
“It’s hard to reach out in the era of Trump for Republicans. The well has been poisoned,” said Davis.
Therefore, as a remedy, we must employ more poison.
“I think that it is a good time for those who voted for the ban against gay marriage to sit and reflect and anticipate their great shame and the shame in their grandchildren’s eyes if they continue that way of support.”
Sean Penn Oscar speech
Same thing applies to those who support these insane immigration s policies.
Sounds like he thinks this’ll get him past a primary challenge. Dickhead.
Somewhat OT, but still worth seeing. The German supermarket chain Edeka did a little one-day publicity stunt a bit back at one of its stores in Hamburg. They took out all of the non-German produce and products and showed what the store with look like with only “made in Germany” or “grown in Germany” stuff on offer. Took out French wines, Spanish lemons, Italian oranges, etc. etc.
They put signs out saying “this is how empty the shelves are without foreigners”, and “This is how boring it is without diversity.” The immigration question is still a hot one here too, but this was a nice attempt at opening people’s eyes to what closed borders really can mean.
OT completely, but everyone needs a laugh in these horrible times:
For those who need a lift, here’s a link to an ad from another supermarket chain here in Germany – with cats!! Who says the Germans have no sense of humor now???
The question is, will Trumpism prevail in a state that rejected Trump by 5.3 percentage points? The era of Trump may be hard on Republicans, but one can hardly think of anyone more deserving of hardship.
Ah, back again.
Flagged…
Slightly OT, but here’s a Russian twist on “anchor babies.”
Looks like Donnie’s been “enabling” them…
In the theatre it’s call flop sweat.
Can you really say what you would have done if you had been in Germany between 1933 and 1945? And what does it matter what one’s ancestors did? I am not responsible for what my father did–which means I don’t deserve blame, and can’t take any credit, either.
As appalling as pretty much everything is these days, it’s doubly appalling when someone who used to at least try to be decent starts aping Trumpian tactics in a tight race to make possible the incredibly good stuff he or she intends to do once in office. It just doesn’t work that way—all you do is corrupt yourself. You probably aren’t cut out to be a leader if you can’t judge between necessary compromises on the one hand and soul-killing betrayals of every societal and personal value on the other.
And Republicans will act surprised when Trumpian positions loose elections.
“Gillespie is likely looking to woo 2016 Trump voters who don’t usually turn out for off-year elections to close the gap.”
That is what scares me about upcoming offyear and midterm elections. That plus,I fear that voters on the left who did not turn out in 2010 or 2014 are gonna do the same next year.
That’s the gop m.o when they have no message they use fear of the other to get out the vote. But they ain’t racist though
Let’s make this clear to our con friends in ole Virginny: Ed Gillespie flippantly came to your side on immigration a few months back. What’s to keep him from flopping back if you give him your vote? Huh?
You err in assuming that Gillespie ever tried to be decent.
He is—and has always been----a smarmy, duplicitous, mealy-mouthed right-wing jackass.
Oh. Well, then, Ed, by all means carry on. I mostly meant in general—I knew a decent GOP state rep in my area years ago—but they seem to be self-deporting these days.
“Well, we joined up!” (Or at least, that’s what I imagine how they would respond to your question.)
Pathetic and farcical to see Tom Davis still carrying water for what has become a white nationalist party. And his client Ed Gillespie obviously is another one with no shame, no values and no moral core.
