Discussion: RECESS RUCKUS: Republicans Met With Jeers At Town Halls Across Country

Brave Sir Robin ran away
Bravely ran away away
When danger reared its ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out

Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat

This is all very heartening. Now all we have to do is sustain this momentum for four long years, rack up some early victories and retake the House in the midterms, and hope Trumpland and the GOP Congress remain too incompetent/consumed by infighting to advance voter suppression or otherwise inhibit electoral democracy.

It amazes me that so many have been fed B.S. to for so long but, they seem to only be aware of the B.S. until now! It’s simply amazing!

HOPEFULLY, when the even crazier candidates emerge, also a “moderate” will run and those voters will realize the consequences their choices have had.

I know I know…but a boy can dream

Dana Rohrbacher in the OC not only won’t even meet with his constituents, he threatened to arrest the people who came by his local office yesterday with trespassing. I say they should start a GoFundMe to raise funds for bail.

FFS. this is unreal. (except that, it is sadly, actually real.)

edit: I would love to see a brave constituent or two call his bluff on this. Just silently go there and hold a sign, or maybe not even a sign, but not speaking above a whisper so nobody could claim “aggressive behavior” against them. With some funds for legal support as you mentioned. Actually arresting a constituent for visiting his/her representatives office… boy would that make a great headline! And I wonder what the courts would have to say about it?

Don’t forget:

Mr. Kelly, BTW is among those GOP members of House Ways and Means who blocked Democrats attempts to get a look at the Trump tax returns.

Then we have people like Senator Cory Gardner who refuses to hold any public meetings because all of those paid protestors wanting to talk to him. We have Missing Person posters in Colorado for him

Awesome.

If they think ignoring us and running from us is the answer then I’m damned if I know what the question is. I’m loving this - finally Americans in the center, the center left and the left are pissed off.

Thanks Trump.

And just wait till they start trying to mess with Medicare and Social Security.

Just so long as they lose in the next general. Sweep all of them into the dustbin of history.

Both are on Ryan’s agenda.

Yes indeed.

Both Nixon and Clinton learned (to their dismay) that it was not the act that got them in hot water, so much as their actions after the fact. For Trickie Dickie, it was the cover-up. For Clinton, it was how he defined “is.”

For Trump and all of his pin-headed ineffably stupid TeaBuggered pals in the House and Senate, it will be their refusal to acknowledge just how badly their latest moves on ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, Vet’s Rights, Clean Air, Clean Water, an open internet, etc, will reflect on them. This could change the course of government so fast that the GOP won’t know what hit them.

Assuming, of course, that we can survive Trumpenstein’s creature for the next 2 years.

“I understand that you’re really upset about the election. You don’t like Donald Trump,” McClintock said near the end of the two-hour town hall that drew about 500 people in Mariposa, a to

Trump won that district by 15 pts.

Gotta give thanks where it’s due - America isn’t divided anymore. America is solidly in agreement in vast numbers - we hate him alright. A big majority of us hate him.

And they can depend on that little 26% all they want.
