Discussion for article #226242

That term you use, ‘freedom of speech’. I do not think it means what you think it means.

“I think there are some people that are threatened by freedom of speech,”

How are those security fixes going? Is the unacceptable-language filter up and running?

It would more appropriately be called “Facebook in the Bubble.”

They just want to cocoon themselves in a place where they can tell each other things they already agree with and not be exposed to people who disagree with them.

Umm . . . okay, wait a minute . . . (j/k)

Delusions of relevance or importance. And you’re definitely “offensive,” lady.

Well now that she is making it secure from the unwashed masses, they will slink away to their pornholes.

Oh, wait no, that merely makes it a challenge, doesn’t it? Lets watch this unfold.

I think to be compared to even a ISP relocation page requires a, you know, web site. Facebook’s been at for a wee longer than 10 minutes.

Please proceed.

These sorts of people live in a strange shrinking dream world where only they love America, only they love freedom… as if the rest of us spend our days trying to get rid of it. This, by no accident, is exactly the same language these people use to describe terrorists.

“ReaganBook is Putting Freedom on the Offensive” (by making sure you have no “freedom” to say anything that THEY disapprove of.)
Pure Orwellian NewSpeak of the highest caliber (so to speak.)
Analogy:
Jake Blues: “Say, what kind of music do you play here at Bob’s Country Bunker?”
Bob’s Wife: “Why, we have BOTH kinds! Country AND Western!”

No, sorry, you just dont have enough cliches in your response Ms. Porter.

The “Facebook for patriots” went offline
last month in order to implement security fixes that will “keep the
site free from obscenity, pornography, and those intent on the
destruction of life, liberty, and the family.”

In other words, they realized they wanted to be able to be able to arbitrarily censor any commentary with which they disagreed.

So much for an claim of supporting free speech.

“ReaganBook is putting freedom on the offensive,” she told Fox.

Tagline suggestion for ya Janet:
ReaganBook - Staunchly Offensive and fighting to pack more Dom in your Freedom.

So they created their own social networking site because the offensive things they posted on facebook were being deleted. And now they’re deleting the comments by others that they find offensive.

btw, I was part of that “assault on liberty,” and the site was completely overwhelmed at about 56 members. I’m pretty sure the hamster died at 100 members. It’s apparent they never seriously expected this to be an actual thing.

Or they’re just tech-stupid.

Proctologists fill a need too, but I wouldn’t particularly want to be one.

What the hell is up with the right’s supposed ownership of the word “Patriot”? I browse through the XM dial, there’s a talk station named Patriot. You can guess the content.

Last refuge of a scoundrel, you fuckers.
