Discussion: READ: Senate GOP Releases Revised Obamacare Repeal Bill

Agreed. They can’t seem to get past the idea that removing Medicaid protections in the red states that opted for them is going to sit well with Senators from those states.

Yeah apparently they can’t handle both letting Medicaid continue and giving the tax cuts they want to give to people.

What has changed here besides a couple of details?

Those “skimpy plans” are not health insurance, that’s a Costco membership card.

This stinker won’t float…or is it, this floater won’t stink. Either way, if this shit passes by one or two votes, there will be hell to pay, and the ire of the nation will show up at the polls in full force for a typically low turnout midterm election…Then again, I could be dead by then…You never know.

This legislation has a 12% approval rating. Let us never lose sight of that. Too bad the Pukes in Congress routinely do.

Nothing really.

If the Rs want to focus on a real “nothing burger,” this is their big chance.

ETA–Gotta run. Hip rehab appointment is looming.

And that is what they think of us - a bunch of Costco shoppers they can foist this shit off on because they seem to think the rest of America is like their supporters.

They should know better by now given how much they’ve been yelled at. They pass this and it’s going to kill them. They don’t pass it, it’s going to kill them.

They’re dead any way you look at it. This is the one thing Americans have really been fired up about.

See you later - hope it goes well.

And the thing that I’ve said before, I think that the results from this debacle will be coming in sooner than later. Even if the results are delayed, they WON’T be delayed long enough to provide cover for the Rethugs. Dems will be running on health care in '18 AGAIN.

Why work if the government gives you money.

Yep, DO mother fucking A. This isn’t even a Hail Mary, it’s a Halloween costume you threw together at 7:00 am before work because your crazy boss texted everybody a reminder that there’s going to be a costume contest, and you’re trying to at least look like you might someday care. It’s not even a Tuesday effort. It’s just designed to get votes and fail.

The stock of Community Health, in the Medicaid epicenter, has been down all day and has not responded positively since the bill was released. The numbercrunchers have had time, and they aren’t impressed. Unfortunately the reports are that this is not the finished bill. Not much chance of it dying next week
As of 12:40 Eastern Lindsay is 'splaining that they’re hoping to get Governors on board. But the joker all along has been that there’s nowhere near the funding in the bill that will make up for the cuts–and there won’t be. This reminds me of their one-page budget “proposal”. Kasich , the CO governor and the rest won’t go for it.

AN insult to pigs, but otherwise accurate.

They should, as well as a whole lot of other good government programs that Republicans have gone out of their way to decimate. They have been fully on-board with the top picks tRump has in all these agencies that are supposed to protect the public. That’s the last thing those appointees have done and there’s no one in the GOP that’s spoken out against that…or the billionaire boys club that he now has running the government on behalf of the uber-wealthy benefactors to their campaigns. Just the stuff they’re doing to net neutrality and environmental rules alone is bad enough. Factor in how they’re trying to take away healthcare…I think we’ll do OK in '18.

Screwing Medicaid is where they get most of the $ to pay off their bribers, er donors.

I realize that and that’s the stumbling block they keep hitting. I don’t suppose they can get that money anywhere else but to kill off our poorest citizens for it.

You know, I didn’t follow up on my post and I should have.

I’m pretty certain Dems will run on this in ‘18 (makes sense) HOWEVER if the ACA falls, this country will not have a Federal healthcare program. All healthcare will fall to the States and if you’'re living in a Red State, I don’t see how they’ll make any effort to bring back the ACA when things go really wrong. Because we can forget about single payer on a Federal level.

i.e. When the Deep South loses Medicaid/Medicare in the form of a block grant, there won’t be anything to replace it.

that probably adds to their enjoyment.
