Everyone around Trump becomes a dignity wraith, except this guy. Comey becomes a much undeserved martyr.
There was enough swirling about Trump back in October that Comey had to know the threat he posed to our Republic.
Itās frightening when the only class acts are those that have been fired for ācauseāā¦The Cons are doing their utmost to tear down and smear a fellow Republican with the man-child āthinkingā that anyone cares that he thinks āComey was not doing a good jobā and then blaming the Democrats because he āgave them what they wanted and they STILL arenāt happy.ā Itās frightening and funny and so damn sad.
I have long believed that a President can fire an FBI Director for any
reason, or for no reason at all. Iām not going to spend time on the
decision or the way it was executed. I hope you wonāt either.
Believe me, we will.
I will always loathe Comey for his behavior before the election and ā at least in part ā saddling us with the POS in the Oval Office. For that alone, he deserved to lose his job.
But not in this way. And not at this time.
a group of people who are committed only to doing the right thing.
Even when that involves aiding a serial murderer in the commission of his crimes, falsifying the results of lab tests or putting a noose on a black colleagueās desk.
Iām not going to spend time on the decision or the way it was executed
Oh Snap!
(But you know what Iām talking about , so letās get this motherfucker now)
Now the song is longer than the letter, but stillā¦
Not all of em (Rick Wilson,Jeff Flake, Ben Sasse) think this way, but the ones who do, likely think Trump will pivot any day now.
And we shouldā¦
Dear staff,
WTF was I thinking helping get Trump elected. Hillaryās laughing her ass off at me now. Man and I thought Trump was a dumb fuck, shows to go ya!
Your homey,
Comey
Money quote from todayās WaPo article on FBI reaction:
Within the Justice Department and the FBI, the firing of Comey has left raw anger, and some fear, according to multiple officials. Thomas OāConnor, the president of the FBI Agents Association, called Comeyās firing āa gut punch. We didnāt see it coming, and we donāt think Director Comey did anything that would lead to this.āā
Many employees said they were furious about the firing, saying the circumstances of his dismissal did more damage to the FBIās independence than anything Comey did in his three-plus years in the job.
One intelligence official who works on Russian espionage matters said they were more determined than ever to pursue such cases. Another said Comeyās firing and the subsequent comments from the White House are attacks that wonāt soon be forgotten. Trump had āessentially declared war on a lot of people at the FBI,ā one official said. āI think there will be a concerted effort to respond over time in kind.ā
IMO Dear Leader is a hurtin". Heās supposedly going soon to FBI HQ to mend fences. Good luck with that.
Going to the FBI to mend fences is probably the stupidest thing he could do. Will make his CIA appearance look like a masterpieces of cooperation and conciliation. So of course heāll do it.
And, likely, talk about just how great he is and how he thinks FBI guys are cool. And all of them will have to sit or stand at attention and listen and pretend to be admiring and respectful.

Rucker, Parker, Horwitz, Costa
They tell me a google search direct link will avoid paywall, sometimes.
Ah yes, what a resounding success his CIA visit was? But thatās Trumpās rRazorā¦
Someone said Trump just kicked a yuge active hornetās nest. Sounds like that was a very apt descriptionā¦
Do they have a wall of fallen agents he can stand in front of and talk about his HUUUUGE inauguration crowd and HUUUUUge Victory?
Another interesting thing about Comeyās letter: Thereās nothing in it that really will discourage the agents from getting their own back on the guy they think dragged the Bureau through the mud. And it sure looks like thatās the agentsā attitude.EDit:Someone who knows more about the FBI than I will read this. I think there is a chance of a demonstrationābacks turned, or even audibleāif he goes. If heās a traitor some of these men and women know it.Iād like to know if Iām right. PM OK.
Ya know, if PP wasnāt such a tiny, petty, little man-child lacking even basic civility, heād have had the sense to calmly invite Comey into the Oval and ask that he tender his immediate resignation. Because of the cruel, humiliating manner in which he fired Comey, he invited more anger and scrutiny than he wouldāve received. This was all so hastily done in a fit of pique, a pathetic display of dominance where he was going to show Comey whatās what.
Now, not only isnāt the Russia investigation going away, itās going to kick into overdrive. Thereās no doubt some folks are afraid, so were we in the immediate aftermath of the election, but that quickly turned to anger, defiance, and then resistance. By firing Comey the way he did and thus embarrassing and threatening the independence of the agency, heās undoubtedly fired up and pissed off even people who otherwise didnāt give a damn about Jim Comey or the Russia investigation. It was business before, but now itās personal.
Not just lacking basic civility, but lacking a basic understanding of safe behavior. Heās quite possibly never been in a position where acting like a complete assh*le had serious negative consequences for him. Not even his bankruptcies or divorces. So the idea that he couldnāt steamroller over Comey and let his underlings clean up some minor mess never occurred to him.
