I have new respect for this man. OK, fine, maybe that’s because I previously really had none, but still, that speech was well done and he deserves credit for what can only be described as issuing a clarion call to sanity.

Yeah - that’s how it works. We Democrats can and despite all the bitching, have condemned this president and this administration. Loudly and often and if you don’t believe me just go turn on MSNBC
The only people listening to the Democrats when they do say these things is us. No conservatives = they don’t watch MSNBC.
So the more conservatives we let into the lifeboat the more will follow. They ain’t going anywhere with us but they will go with their own kind. And god knows y’all spend enough time and bandwidth worrying about his base. Well this is the kind of thing that makes inroads on that.

Nah. The act of doing this makes him an outsider in their minds. This isn’t heard or witnessed as “holy shit, one of our own is telling us to introspect and be honest with ourselves that we’ve gone astray.” Rather, it is heard and witnessed as either the Charlie Brown teacher’s voice and/or “RINO proves he’s a scumbag traitor who is not fit to lick Messiah Trump’s anus and that he’s really a secret liberal…fuck him and may he die in a fire with the rest of his liberal ilk.” I’m dead serious. You guys really should spend more time within their filth holes observing how they think and react to things.

The fucking article even ends with a glowing endorsement from Jan Brewer of his would-be replacement. It’s like you guys sometimes forget that half (probably more) of the country simply hasn’t met a rational thought in their entire fucking lives hehe

If he’s speaking to the GOP they ain’t listening. He’s not that popular with them or their base, even when he votes with them 95% of the time. So if he thinks he’s doing something wonderful for his party, getting out is an odd way to show it after you’ve been bullied by President Bannon to get out with tRump’s full approval behind it. He was in trouble for his seat. That’s why he didn’t risk it…ergo, that’s where his impetus comes from imo. Its their civil war, so I really couldn’t care less, as long as we have someone ready, willing and able to step up in the Democratic party to work hard to take that seat and fight for a better way forward.

Of course, it was fine with Flake when the Republicans were trying to destroy President Obama. He supported blocking Garland and voted for the nuclear option to confirm Gorsuch.
Flake is resigning because he is afraid to lose a primary. If he could win it, he’d stay; his principles be damned.
